He's just a loner, he never says hello.
Something I really appreciate about 13 in the modern Metal landscape is how Geezer is as loud as Iommi in the mix and while he's following the same tempo, he's rarely playing the same riff. I love the sound of the guitars, PLURAL, on this album. Iommi on the higher end, Geezer on the lower, and they combine into just the filthiest sound that I adore. The bass guitar is so often buried in the mix, and this album is a beautiful reminder of how good it sounds when a guitar and bass coexist in perfect harmony.
Oh, and as a side note… "Loner" and "God is Dead?" in particular have absolutely LEGENDARY riffs. Metal has grown and changed a lot over the last 55 years, but riffs like that remind us that Black Sabbath was first band to put all of the pieces together to create the genre as we know it. They might not have invented each original piece, but they combined them, and did so with riffs like this – and that's how heavy metal began.
