BACKING THROUGH THE BUSH. JUST KEEP BACKING… JUST KEEP BACKING
Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, I get to test my reversing skills. After a lot of bad storms and heavy rain, a service truck is attempting to reach a backup generator, when the gravity just takes his truck away. These ground conditions are much like attempting to drive on ice. I take our Western Star #18, the Miller Industries Century 9055XL and have to back into the narrow access path just to reach the casualty. I think it takes longer to back into the location than it does to actually perform the winch-out. This may seem boring to some and that’s ok, but this is part of our job. And backing this behemoth through this area wasn’t the easiest task in the world…. Here we go!!! Watch and see!! ENJOY!!!
Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God’s blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!

My common analogy, “there are many ways to reach 10”. I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

Always Great to See a Professional at Work. 👍🙏
Looks like you could have pulled into the site and made a 78 point turn to get your back end positioned correctly.
Another interesting video, keep you on the edge of your seat. 😊
Bonehead truckers sent me…
They figured you were driving a little Truck
Obvious why the service truck got stuck, the anchor cable for the power lines just forced the driverthat little bit too far. Cant see an easy solution for the service engineers.
The thing is this Ron, at least it's in daylight.
Ron
My personal record for backing, seven and a half miles on a road from the plains into the mountains out of Lost Springs, Wyoming
In the middle of the night in fog.
The road was blocked by a semi that got high centered in a gully.
I backed a super tanker (semi) crude oil trailer
I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND the concentration
Thank you for your always fantastic examples
I don't know if you still have the single axel peterbulit but wouldn't that truck be better for this job?
at 27:50 "Pretty straight forward", more like "Pretty straight backwards"
Nice job! After a near-perfect back-up to the stuck service truck & an easy pull to safety. Easy as pie for the experienced person. God bless & stay safe.
The things you do get into! Even backwards!
"…we're right on the border between MO and IL…" Well, you have a much wider border than between say, IL and IN! Not woo far south of Cape that referenced 'border' is nearly a mile wide! Speaking, of course, of the mighty Big Middy, Mississippi River! 😂
Was the little Pete unavailable for this job?
Appears as a great archery deer hunting area.
hi ron they should let you run red blue in all states
What would have been with the rotator
After 27 years of CDL I tell my grandkids. I've got more miles backwards than you do forward. I like hearing my granddaughter say'Oh Papaw ". Mr. Ron you always do a professional job. Stay Safe!
Reminds me of my LTL delivery days out of a tractor-trailer. Loved those 2-3 mile backs down a one lane road. Have fun.
Im not one to tell a professional how to do a job ,but, that 6 wheeler Peterbuilt probably would of handled the job as well, as it pulls school busses.
Looks like this is your sign to put a 20k winch on your front end! hahaha
No body with out a cdl can really know how nerve racking it is
Who in the hell would live back ther
Looks like who ever in in charge of that site better budget for widening the road around the tower. It appears unsafe for anything larger than a standard pickup.
I think he meant he was not going to drive the truck closer to the generator building he still had to do the work
and this week on Adventures with Ron, we find him in the rotator's little twin, Little Beast (The straight boom that could), on a Mater worthy backwards escapade to rescue a service truck down a sketchy snake of a road that just keeps getting more an more narrow with wild drops and trash cans that love to get in the way. Join Ron and Little Beast as they take on this adventure of backward proportions we call "Just keep Backing!" Great job Ron! God Bless!
i would like to be your friend and maybe meet u one day God bless u and your family
I don’t think a tow truck should be able to use red and blues anywhere imo
Thanks, Ron. You left enough clues in the video to locate that slippery site. Mostly I fail – miserably!
That drop off by the trash cans made my butt pucker, I can only imagine how bad yours was puckering lol
Nice to know that someone else talks to themselves. I do the same, sometimes it helps me to solve a problem/situation ; or kept me awake while driving my 18 wheeler. Personally I would have moved those trash cans, backed up past them ,then put them back to avoid getting to close to that drop off. That's just me. Keep safe Ron. Since I just recently retired from commercial driving I should not need your services if I needed them when I was in your neck of the woods.
If you weren’t talking will backing up the first part of the video would be boring
Thanks for the interesting video Ron. Was a different kind of call for you. Nice work Ron.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I hope the driver of the work rig has a satellite phone or CB Radio being that far out of no where I bet it’s scary for him
@Ron Pratt it’s the 1st time seeing all of your axles down is it that step that you need to put an extra axle for traction? You almost need 4 axles in the back
Anna Jonesboro
Ron, I've been meaning to ask you, a few videos ago, you mentioned using synthetic rope, are you going to retrofit all the equipment with synthetic or just a couple of the wreckers to try it out? Great backing and job well done.
I don't blame the guy for not going on in; smart man.
Honeysuckle mess with my sinus bad
That big girl has a car alarm?
Yea ill say you did a awesome job backing that big boy back in there that half mile ! Some would have said the heck with that and bailed and left the job ! So my hat off to you my friend !
