what I find so funny about this entire series is that they make it a point to establish how hard it is to get to mars and how the whole crew is almost stranded. Then just….. casually forget that aspect? like, characters randomly show up to a supposed stranded outpost like nothing of it. "yeah… well i was in the neighborhood." this is the LAZIEST scifi writting i've ever seen.

Every space movie has the same dumb mistakes like single module etc..but the most dumb thing i find is astronauts couple…space missions are the most serious thing ever and you dont just stick a couple in it so they could jeopardise entire mission with their emotions.
Its all so confusing. What happened to the good old days… land on mars, bugs go up someboy's nose, they try to kill each other, brilliant scientist saves the last few. Done.
No professional astronaught would ever perform any EVA without a tether to the ship, why did he not have a tether. Obviously he's gonna fly off because he was an idiot.

The plot is the same, same typical space movie that we see time and time again. This is a prime example of why 2001 was so, so good. It didn't need all these other destructive moment, plot builders to deliver and fantastic movie, you want to watch time and time again..
