Collagen enjoyers come off as keto freaks. Probably a lot of cross over. I doubt collagen is worth taken. Like at all for anything. It's a scam.
I take it largely for the glycine which helps my sleep and recovery
Collagen supplements may increase the risk of kidney stones, particularly due to the amino acid hydroxyproline, which can be converted into oxalate in the body. People with a history of kidney stones or certain metabolic disorders should be cautious with collagen intake
An important point is made towards the end about essential amino acids and diet.
I found that, as runner, I experienced less muscle and knee soreness on my upscale phases, where am layering on progressive load towards an event. My recovery time seems to have noticeably reduced
I used to think collagen was just marketing but after hearing Luc and Peter discuss it, kinda opened my eyes. Been stacking collagen with BPC-157 from life link research for my marathon training since last winter, actually surprised my joints feel more solid.
Totally missing the point about collagen. Did you ask your wife's friends why they are taking it in the first place?
Quality review by a credible MD (Brad Stanfield) of current research supporting collagen supplementation due to positive effects on skin health measures. https://youtu.be/U8uPzDdG77c?si=DOPeVjhzlKKwniAn
This man has zero clue about why people take collagen.
wtf?! the whole point of watching this video was to understand if it actually helps joints, ligaments, etc – fairly standard knowledge that it's no good for muscle ..just focus the studies on that ffs
This 8 minutes video was interrupted 3 times by ads when watching it. YouTube, are you really that desperate about money? (rhetorical question)
Whats the topic and whats he talking about
I eat 4 jars of callligoen from Costco everyday and I don’t see any difference. 4 jars with two gallons of milk.
Love the dutch accent
these 2 guys are delusional
This feels like a giant waste of time conversation. We want to know because we care about our skin, not our muscle lol
so judging by your before and after pictures… glycine makes you gay?
Collagen helps tendons BIG TIME along with exercise. Take the collagen and hour before exercise so it absorbs. If you are in massive pain due to tendinopathy, take the collagen!! There’s no “jury still out on that” BS!!
clueless much?
seems it's not the silver bullet for hair loss, judging by this video
SKIN!!!! Skin & hair, you dopes!!! That’s what people want to know …not muscle building! Talk about failure to read the room.
Apparently collagen doesn't help with regrowing hair.
I have a smart scale since 06 2024. Since then I’ve lost +- 20 kg of weight and gained 300 grams of bone mass. At the same time. I do physical therapy exercises and pool gym every day/every other day. Using collagen for the past 5 months. Whatever the reason, gaining bone mass at 65 is nice.
I would love to know if collagen is any good to restructure my skin which has been significantly damaged due to 185 kg lost over a life time. Now it’s stable at 85 kg but still, there’s all that lose skin to tighten. Or to remove.
Same for muscle growth. I need to grow more muscle.
Look at what works for climbing, where tendon strength is a training goal. The training modality for that is very different to training for muscle gain. Its basically little Stress but often – with gains coming more slowly but more consistently. this sufgest the response times could be different. Seperate to this i take collagen to help sleep. For which it definitly works.
Hmmm inconclusive even for bone repair after a fracture?
what about type ii collagen for RA
Guys, all those people of 50-60 years giving their feedbacks on their collagen usage, are they bots ? It seems they all write similar comments.
useless irrelevant video, why are you talking about muscle building in a video about collagen ?! I think we all know why people take collagen…
heavy metals are a concern in marine collagen
I've been taking hydrolyzed collagen for two years and now heard it can cause cancer? Can you pls answer?
The data on effects of connective tissue for collagen has not been impressive, but for skin it's much more positive, and pain management also. Subjectively, reports of improved hair thickness and nails are common, but data needed there. There's also potential benefits on added glycine in aging people, which supports GSH production. Collagen is a poor source for protein replacement however.
I was blown away by the results I saw from using NewYou Collagen! My skin is glowing, my hair is shiny, and I feel amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural beauty solution!
Just started using NewYou Collagen Powder, and my skin is already looking so much more hydrated! Loving the smoother texture and stronger nails too!
Keith Barr's Lab @UC Davis has done a lot of positive research on cartlidge repair gelatin combined with Vit C.
People are worried about their tendons, joints, hair, skin, nails, not their muscles in regards to collagen.
