Just found your channel. This description of a day in the life of a dad is SO accurate. Great advice, thank you!
This video should have a million views. I am 46 yo and have a 6, 7 and 13 and 2 dogs. I have to wake up at 4am to go to the gym. And I also train parkour and gymnastics. I work 4 or 5 twelve hour shifts a week. But I just neglect dishes and laundry and other chores and only shower once a week. 😂
I have learned two things so far. They were mentioned here, but simply put they are
1. Don’t wait to be rested to do your workout
2. Don’t wait for all the things to be done to do your workout. (It just has to be another one of the important things to be done)
I find that as soon as I start a single set, I will start to find the energy for more and of course, it will give you energy improve your mood, even if you’re already psyched. I’m a climber who works an as electrician and I find that working out on my lunch break is an excellent window. I can use a portable hangboard or do calisthenics and jump rope. It makes such a difference in my day. This was an excellent video.
Lastly I like to remember the words of Ram Dass… “The greatest gift you can give to your children is to work on yourself.”
34 and child free by choice but guess what? I still needed to see this video.
Parenting workout tip: exercise when monitoring your kids. They might do it with you. They might play blocks instead. Either way everyone is safe, you get your workout and they get to see that aspect about you that they might otherwise not know or understand. Maybe it models a healthy lifestyle for their future selves.
Love the parenting explanation. The only time I’ve thrown out my back was trying to get my toddler out of her car seat from an awkward angle in a tight parking spot. I am fit and work in construction so I have lots of opportunities for injury. The constant bending over is killer and neigh unavoidable with kids.
Parent here. Adjustable dumbbells, adjustable bench (a version that stands up for storage, and a jump rope. This is all you need to stay fit. Body Weight calisthenics, with some hypertrophy training, 4 days a week. Off days, do ATG active stretching and mobility.
Working 8 hours in office. During the day doing 300 squats and 150 pushups is more than enough for me, at home after work some pullups and stretching. In best shape of my life. 40 y.o
Yeah I'm having these issues, I really wanna workout but I work a lot! I'm trying to do something I'm struggling bad and put on a lot of weight.
This is such a great vid! As a parent of 2 kids, I like how adaptability is at the center of the vid. Thank you!
3:53 Not preaching to the choir, more like just giving us flashbacks… including for those of us who are still in the thick of it.
My girlfriend is 7 months pregnant and, among many other problems that happened during this period, i alreay gained 12 pounds due to the stress of the situation, it is so hard that everyone is congratulating us but we feel completely devastated….
What about the Bioneer version of the One Punch Man routine you reviewed a while ago? I became a father just a week ago and I keep thinking about what you said in that video: "one of the most appealing aspects of this training is that it is so simple. Just a few excercises you can do anywhere without worrying about complicated or more complex routines."
I think this kind of training fits well with the philosophy behind this video.
As a parent. You properly explained it. And for that sir you got a sub
I get a good streak for a few days and then another month has passed and I'm like where did the time go!
Productive workouts can be had in 10 minutes or less.
How do you make sure your kid doesn't come running into the room while you're swinging that kettlebell? Does mom act as spotter?
Watching this while doing the dishes after a morning workout, full day in work and finishing work to play with the baby haha. Thank you for being the realist person on YouTube gonna buy your book now
7-8 when they go to sleep? god I WISH. I call it a success if they're asleep before 10
Skip to 4:15 time, to get to the point.
Garage/Home gym. Boom, done 💥
