  1. It isn't admirable to anyone but other kids when a kid mouths off to someone bigger and older than them. And if they don't have the sense to know when to shut their mouth, then their parents failed them, and someone else has to step into and fill that void.

Sometimes those lessons hurt. But they should ALWAYS humiliate. And if necessary, that lesson should be taught to the parent(s), too. Much of the ills of modern society come from half-feral children who never learned common sense, and it is imperative to teach them before prison (or violence at the hands of their peers) does so in a far more permanent way. 🤷‍♂️

  2. I feel for the girl who got hurt in the first story. Her parents should have pressed charges. That is not okay for ANYONE to do, much less a caretaker to a child. I hope that nepo teen learned a lesson about taking feedback after that🤦‍♂️

  3. i think complaining about loud children on your vacation is normal non karen behavior actually, lady just wanted to enjoy her vacation and get what she paid for.

  4. I just wanna say, having complex ptsd, adhd and insomnia, you Joel, are quite literally the ONLY way I get any sleep without taking doc prescribed medication, and you have no idea how much I appreciate you for it.❤❤❤❤
    You keep me going.

  5. Would have loved to listen to the rest of the stories, but listening to the first one with that background noise made me want to slam my head against the dashboard until I couldn't hear anything at all. Removed from playlist.

  6. The story where the guy is comparing his youth like the first season of Stranger Things without the upside down world, dude, I feel you. Although, if we were to go back to 1983 I would only be 2 years old. However, I remember a time where I would ride bikes and go on adventures with my group of girls or we'd be at someone's house playing outside until the street lights came on. Most of our parents wanted the peace and most of the time you didn't hear about abductions, we didn't have an Amber alert back then, but we were also told about stranger danger back then. Plus, we were allowed to walk to the playground by ourselves when we were at least 4-5 years old, shocking isn't it, we wouldn't do that now. Life was simpler back then before technology really boomed, the biggest thing parents hated was MTV and eventually video games. Someone needs to invent that time machine so I can go back to the 80's and relive some of my childhood.

  7. My husband is GONE and I know the thing he would've wanted most in this sinful mortal world would be for his favorite storyteller to tell a big gnome story scary style. Please joel. please. Gnome more pain.

  8. story 2 got me laughing my ass off. the man was just sleeping tho probaply mad about waking up all of the sudden but he probaply never had any ill intend. but when you were drunk or high that sorta stuff tends to happen so probaply that.

  9. How is story 8 supposed to be scary in any way? The woman sounds like a giant, entitled Karen; things didn't go exactly as she wanted them to bc the universe doesn't enjoy assholes. Her debit card not processing a charge online is not scary, it happens from time to time; car breaking down isn't scary, cars do that; being given a smoking room instead of a non-smoking room isn't scary, staff or the reservation system assigned her to the wrong room or she failed to indicate non-smoking as her preference; not having a mini-fridge isn't scary, ask and they'll bring one up to your room; waiting for them to cook your food isn't scary, that's life; unruly kids racing around, excited to be on vacation isn't scary, either are entitled parents that won't correct their kids behavior, way common; getting a cold while in a foreign country isn't scary, it happens frequently to people everywhere.
IDK I'm just failing to see anything even remotely strange let alone SCARY in her entire vacation story!! Yes, it was coincidental that the cards didn't work and the car died prior to the trip, and that, yes, maybe the universe was trying to tell her it wasn't the best idea to book this trip, but nothing beyond that coincidence caused the very minor inconvenience of being given the wrong room, waiting for them to cook your meal, and having noisy kids in the room next door…. that's life not horror.

  10. The woman in the last story sounds like the most rude, entitled Karen.
That being said, I love this channel. Your voice is so soothing. I listen to your stories at work, when I'm driving or any other time I need entertainment that's not music. Thanks for all that you do!
