  1. The swing wasn’t terrible but the serve was, you can tell she’s never played a sport in her life 😂 I agree with one of the comments below though, it’s so difficult to make tennis movies look believable. Even in short scenes from tv shows where there’s a tennis champion or something – they always look hopeless. 😂

  2. she could stand to “feel the weight of the racket” a bit more in her serve, so as to make it come down more by the force of gravity, and not force it or try to stop it on its way down. the forehand looked really solid though!

  3. The fact that tennis is one the hatdest sports ( I would say its the hardest ) Zendaya had pulled of the footwork quite well as I assume before the movie she probably never even picled up a racket. Sorry I'm from russia my english is very bad. 😅

  4. She’s clearly in the process of learning the choreography as well as the basics, she’s not even using a ball yet. She’s copying the movements and the timing which will all be fine tuned later. I promise the people in these comments, she’ll get better, that’s quite literally what the training is for. So many critical people over absolutely nothing. She’s not claiming to be a master here geez. She’s learning a NEW skill. Also, to the people saying that they have been playing tennis for X amount of years: Am I supposed to take you at your word that you actually are a tennis player, like you were trained and actually part of a team that competed? I have no reason to take any of you supposed real players seriously, especially when rather than suggesting what could be improved and how y’all just say she’s doing badly. Not to mention it’s like y’all forgot that you were also where she is now, when you started you were worse than she is in this video. So y’all don’t get to be mean because she not a top tier player as a beginner who is actively working to do better. How about instead of insulting her, y’all tell us how a move works here. What lends power? What lends speed? What are important things to keep in mind here? How is your form supposed to be? Why or why not would her footwork be good and how does it compare to the stunt double/pro tennis player? Why or why not would her serve be good here and how does it compare the stunt double/pro tennis player? Maybe it’s my timing and more real tennis players will come along. However, I’ve yet to see a comment where someone claims to know about tennis and I actually take that person seriously. I’ve yet to see proper criticism on her form or movements or explanations for the logistics of tennis. All I see is people saying, “She sucks.” “Her footwork is mid and I would know because I play tennis (there is no proof of this claim btw).” Those comments actually make me believe that they are in fact lying because most athletes are taught how to properly criticize beginners to help them learn. They’re taught to (and probably also have experience) assist a beginner by giving tips and and explanations. Stuff like, “You’re doing this, this is how you do it. (Insert description here) is how it should feel in these parts of your body.” It’s more than just saying something is being done wrong. It’s showing and explaining how something works and why. If am seeing just hate (like saying she sucks) and somebody claims to have knowledge on the topic at hand I automatically assume they’re lying because this is the internet and I’ve seen but simply worded hate comments.

Edit: I scrolled a little more and there is a lot of praise however there’s still plenty of hate. I’m glad at a lot of people are recognizing that she’s learning and working hard. Also there’s a lot of people claiming to be tennis players that say she’s doing great. They’re not necessarily more trustworthy in their claims but it definitely doesn’t look good for the haters. Someone has to be lying and well, haters are kinda known to lie just so they can appear to be justified in their hate or to try and embarrass the person they’re trying to hate even when they’re totally wrong.
