  1. Ali did fight some 6'5"/6'6" men. Ernie Terrell and Chuck Wepner. A surprising amount of heavyweights he fought were 6'3". But I think you've got a good point with the advanced sports science/conditioning factor of today even though Ali had insane conditioning for his time (many of those fights 15 rounds, too). On the subject of height though, I'd give peak Mike Tyson a big chance against some of our giants of today. Ultimately, I think Ali would be suffering today from his lack of hard hitting, which he used to make up for by the sheer volume of points scored and opponents knackered by the constant pop pop pop of jab headhunting (Ali doing serious bodywork on opponents was infrequent, he really was all about the head). I dunno if he'd hurt and wear down these gargantuan athletes of today as much as the opponents of the 1960s and 70s. And I think his legendary chin and ribs might not stand up as well against today's level of heavyweight power. Weight does count for something, that's why it's….heavyweight.

  2. Correction, Marciano was Lighter as a Heavyweight Boxer like Ali , Foreman…etc and today like Usyk…Fury…Joshua by his Weight .
Marciano was more a Cruiseweight than a Heavyweight , in spite of , being fairly , the Best Heavyweight Boxer in his Era , and still the only Unbeatable one of Heavyweights in Boxing .

  3. No one (Usyk , Fury , Joshua , Wilder , Ruiz , …the top recent Heavyweights ) have Ali's FOOTWORK neither , so fast by punching and moving with agility like Ali !
Ali is , absolutly , THE GREATEST ONE EVER , EVEN BETTER THAN THE UNBEATABLE ROCKY MARCIANO .
BECAUSE , MARCIANO DIDN'T HAD OPPONENTS SO GREAT AND SO HARD LIKE ALI , IN HIS TIME , HAD .
MARCIANO , OK , IS THE "THE UNIQUE AND THE LUCKY ONE BY BEING THE HEAVYWEIGHT UNBEATABLE ONE" BUT , BECAUSE , (LIKE I'VE SAID) , MARCIANO HAD EASIER , (OR LESS DIFICULT ONES) , OPPONENTS TO FACE WITH IN THE RING THAN ALI .
AND BY THE WAY , ALI OR FOREMAN ,….ARE HEAVIER , STRONGER AND BETTER BOXERS THAN THE LIGHTER HEAVYWEIGHT BOXERS , ROCKY MARCIANO , (MARCIANO WAS. ORE A CRUISEWEIGHT BOXER BY HIS HEIGHT THAN , EXACLY , A HEAVYWEIGHT ONE) .

  4. Does anyone still have doubts ?
Ali is THE GREATEST , HE WOULD BEAT ANYONE OF THE HEAVYWEIGHT TOP BOXERS OF TODAY IN THEIR PRIMES , OK ?
WHY ? BECAUSE ALI , NOT ONLY WON THREES TIMES AS WORLD CHAMPION (WINNING ..LOOSING AND REGAINING THE TITLE AGAIN) , BUT ALSO HE WON THE BEST OPPONENTS EVER OF THE GOLDEN AGE OF HEAVYWEIGHTS IN. BOXING , (60s – 70s) .
Even George Foreman (also ONE OF BEST EVER AND TAKING PART OF THOSE GREAT OPPONENTS THAT ALI FACED IN THE RING AND , FAIRLY , WON) , COULD BEAT THE RECENT TOP ONES IN THEIR PRIMES .
Ali , in my honest Opinion , has THE BEST EVER FOOTWORK OF HEAVYWEIGHTS , ALSO , WITH VERY FAST AND POWERFUL PUNCHES AND SUCH A CLEVER GUY IN THE RING LIKE NO OTHER ,BY THE WAY HE "STUDIED HIS OPPONENTS" ON CANVAS .

  5. I think at the very least you would have to give Ali the equalizer of having modern training in these hypothetical matches. I think that makes it the most accurate, either the fighters fight in one era or the other, neutralizing the effect of modern sports science as it can be assumed both athletes would use the most advanced training regiment available to them at the time.

  6. Liston had 84 reach more than others except Tyson, what's my name fighter was 6'6 yet in the ring Ali looked taller, Mike tyson was 5'10 yet was beating 6'5 tall fighters Usyk beat both Joshua and tyson, i don't think reach and height would stop Ali, Joshua is not bigger buncher than shavers and foreman and if Ali fought these guys it would be either 70s or now which means they would be using same deit and technology
Ali vs Joshua easy Ali win
ALI vs Klitchko easy Ali win
Ali vs Fury entertaining but Ali is the master so Ali wins
ALI vs Usyk would been amazing and trust me Ali would look like so taller in the ring and would beat Usyk and like he said Usyk beating Frazier and foreman hell no

  7. Tyson was beaten all ends up by Buster Douglas so Cassius Clay would have wiped the floor with Tyson at the same age. Not a chance in hell could Tyson win that fight. Remember when Ali was over the hill he beat the hardest heavyweight champion puncher of all time in Forman and he also beat the murderous monster Sony Liston. So the Greatest is the greatest no matter what. As for sport's science – Clay was the master of the craft. He learnt from the best ever in Sugar ray Robinson and nobody but nobody who knows anything about the gentle silence will argue about the best of them all.

  8. Tyson Fury against Cassius Clay – by the end of the fight Fury would be a bumbling barrel of lard. He would never enter the ring again. They call him fury he is more like a slug or Jabba the Hut.

  9. “I am the Greatest!!!” Ali would say.

And he would prove it against any boxer today with his superiority in speed, boxing ability, stamina, foot work, and his sheer ability to take a punch from the hardest hitters that includes Shavers, Foreman, Liston (who couldn’t touch him), and Smokin’ Joe Frazier (his toughest opponent).

Ali is still the Greatest of All Times…plain and simple.

  10. I think the only match I would be intrested in and that would not be a clear win for Ali would be Usyk. And I am glad that that will never happen. 🙂

  11. Based on the scoring and judging systems of today, Ali would lose TKO to Frazier, and lose decision to several opponents particularly Norton. I think he can lose to Usyk (Frazier) and Joshua (Norton). If Fury could wear him with his super heavyweight body, it is also a disaster for Ali. Remember that Ali was, most of the time, a backward fighter bacause he was considered big in his time, but that is not the case for today. What will happen if today boxers force him to go forward?
