Only the tragic loss of Ruffian gives me pause when I see Zenyatta run down the boys at the Breeders Classic……what a star. Definitely one of the top 2-3 that ever raced as a filly.

I don’t think the jockey wins it for Chautauqua. I think at some point he just whispers in the horse’s ear: “it’s okay boy, you can run now”! He’s being a good horse, holding back, waiting for permission to fly!

I had mine that bird because he was a mudder, and the track was that way full of mud. I was very upset with the way this race was called because mine that bird never got any credit for moving up until he went into first place.

Chautauqua was an absolute beast.
And the Champion is definitely, most definitely is Chataquau.
2004 Lohnro winning the “Australian cup”, getting squeezed and checked at the 300m then have to side step two horses, pick back up and then winning by nearly a length best race I’ve ever seen.
Zenyatta's win is a bit overrated
They all pale into insignificance compared to Arborea's win in the 1993 Wakeful Stakes at Flemington.
