Gears of War is one of the most important shooters from the last two decades. But what exactly made it so special? How did Gears of War become such an iconic franchise overnight? The Act Man has all the answers…
Gears was one of the games of its generation. The great character, world design and the cinematic presentation grabbed you in and didn't let you. I'd argue for pure "WOW" factor it probably did more for the XB360 than even Halo.
The problem is not with the games being made, but with the developers making them. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is corporate suicide. We need more developers who just want to make amazing games without injecting their forced activism into the game. Mindless fun > DEI therapy and activist indoctrination
Fun fact: in gears of War 1 Marcus Fenix was able to bench around 1500 kilos and their strength and muscle density is all natural since their planet was far more hostile in the aspect of war than us humans are with each other. So realistically Cog soldiers are around 3 to 4 soldiers in real life, 3x-4x's the strength of the average of human vs Seran's
fun fact about the Lancer in gears judgement you aren't supposed to have it because the Lancer was made far into the Locus war but they knew the fans wouldn't like the game without it same as the new game the Lancer isn't shown but do you want to guess if it either gets called out or has an prototype shown
That “well, we’re not here to sell cookies” segment of the game, my dad was stuck on for like 3 hours and all I was hearing was “well, we’re not here to sell cookies” over and over again💀
True story; when i got my first Xbox 360 it came bundled with Gears of War. I was about 11 or 12. In full honesty, the game scared the crap out of me, so i never played past the first Beserker. So it wasn't until just a few months ago that I finally decided to play through all the Gears games. And they are now some of my all time favourite games
First game, "so what's the story." Everyone who's read the books and comics "Oh, you don't want to know, let's put it this way. The bad guys… aren't the only ones."

I miss the dream team/ legion of boom. 😢
I'm currently playing Gear 2 right now for the first time, and I'm really enjoying myself. Many modern game companies have lost their magic.

Bro, that's me talking shit back in the day. I didn't even remember that shit
Just beat ultimate and got this vid recommended 😂
It STILL looks INCREDIBLE on xbox 360 to this day. Visually, this game was so many years ahead of its time
Broo, took you long enough to make this video. So glad you finally made it happened 🙌🏽
Don't disrespect gears of war judgment it's actually really good
9:25 I love the dumb jokes, just fucking scream random bullshit 😂
You look like the Marcus Fenix
Can't wait for e-day!
I fucking love the lancer. Thank god Epic stood their ground on not changing or removing like the dummy vp wanted.
The “when I keep falling for it” joke hit close bro.
It had the craziest multiplayer ever!

I actually shouted my agreement with you the RAAM is bullshit :'D

Gears of War 1 is the best game out of its series for me. I always come back to it, even after all these years.
The hype cycle leading up to this game’s release was one of my favorite times in gaming history.
Ah shit, gotta add gow to the list of “games I didn’t have the chance to play when I was younger that need to be played”
I might be wrong but doesn't EA Battlefront 2 have a reload mechanic similar to that?
