  1. I was on metformin for over a year. My muscles started burning constantly and very painfully . I was losing strength. When I stopped, the burning stopped. My strength is coming back, but because I'm in my late 60s, it's a very slow process.

  2. I just started taking topiramate 44mg only on day 2 week 3 metaformin is prescribed for my diet goals.
Today i had the scariest symptoms shortness of breath extreme anxiety tingling in hands. Definitely have buyers remorse

  3. … Your reference to "mild toxcity" of Metformin to mitochondria is valid. But here you play on people's associations, play with their connotation for the word "Toxicity", because in fact this is not always BAD thing. Small toxicity below considerable damage levels actually might signal cells to self-repair. This is a fact known to science on so many occasions with some therapies using this effect.

  4. I consulted heavily with several Deep Search AI . They reviewed like 30 latest scientific publications on metformin and it reasoned and concluded like a PhD with pros and cons. The bottom line: I am still taking 850mg pills of metformin 2 per week – one before 36-hour fasting and another right after. The second one together with 5-10 gr trehalose.
From my experiences, it feels like doing 3-day fasting in just 1 day.
Metformin might not be ideal for regular people to take daily but it is a great fasting booster. I feel the effect and weight of it when fasting

  5. its just a temporary efect , with time the workload of human powerhouse will produce more mithocondria ,
and Yes, lactic acid can increase mitochondrial biogenesis. This is because lactate can trigger a series of cellular responses that coordinate metabolism and mitochondrial biogenesis. metformin is simulating the exercise efect . And it have genetics efects independent of lower insulin! It turn on sirtuins. And vo2 it not the final work about longevity ! You can die of cancer even with a good vo2 .

  6. My very next video is Dr Ford Brewer expounding on the 'Top 5 HIDDEN Benefits of Metformin'. And further down the line is another video titled: Metformin and Exercise: 6 concerns – serious concerns!'
    SMH.

  7. I have but not for long, high blood sugars and I know that I am insulin resistant/not for long! My "Dr" ordered blood tests but didn't tell me to fast, I had no idea he was doing a blood sugar test, if I had known, I would have done it in a fasted state.. anyways.. I've had breathing issues and lactic acid build up just by walking 10 simple steps, and he knows this! The day of my test, I had errands to run before the test and ate 2 bananas, i knew I shouldn't have because of the way they make me feel! Way too high glycemic for my system! So the doctor didn't mention anything on the test except for my BS and wanted to put me on Metformin.. he knew I had breathing issues and lactic acid, so why would he want me to go on Metformin? I really don't understand that! My brother was type 2, I'm the one that told him he was diabetic, he didn't believe it.. Sure enough! Yup.. type 2! he went on Metformin, but I guess he thought that was a free ticket to eat little debbies oatmeal pies, my brother died a year ago around or on my birthday.. he always contacted me on my birthday and when he didn't, I thought something was wrong. Anyways, I told the "Dr" NO, and he wasn't happy with me at all.. Thank you for this video! I almost compromised and was going to ask him for the metformin just until I get these bs levels normalized.. ty for the reminder about lactic acid!

  8. All of my experiences, Mac Foreman were contradictory to what you're saying, my blood sugar went up higher. I'm Mack format. I got off the mac foreman, my blood sugar went down on mcmormon, I felt weak and helpless, and I could barely walk off mac foreman, I could work everything you're telling me, is the opposite from my experience

  9. What are they debating for? Never mix the Hormone drugs (metformin IS) and certain antibiota ( sources , bacteria , yeast?) TOGETHER. u the patien+. power0xffgovoto'202e'

  10. I have shcizo affective disorder bipolar type, and at 285pounds I felt, that I had no other choice but to take metformin. Doing keto/carnivore is not working either though i have been doing this for over a year now. I take a very powerful medication called quetiapine that makes me prediabetic, and weight loss is nearly null and void. ,.

  11. Metformin is known to be mitotoxic. I have a super rare gene mutation that causes monogenic diabetes (MODY4). This is rare on a crazy scale, but the other thing the mutation does is supress my mitochondrial complex I . Misdiagnosed asT1, LADA, T1.5 and finally T2, (thank you gaslighting medical community) I was on metformin for years and years. I was on it when it was still glucophage, before the patent ran out. Unfortunately, it was killing me, too. Already having compromised mitochondria, the metformin was choking down what little I had. When measured I had less than 30 percent of my complex I, with a proliferation of mitochondria…common as they try to compensate. My lactic acid and ammonia weree chronically elevated. When I met with my mito specialist the first time, she told me to drop the metformin immediately. It was still another decade before DNA caught up to get a firm diagnosis, but here we are. The mutation on PDX1 caused the MODY4 diabetes and is proven to cause mitochondrial complex I deficiency. MODY1 and MODY3 are also shown to have connections to mito problems. Metformin just exacerbated it to the point my kidneys were failing with a eGFR below 30. Two weeks after stopping metrormin and beginning the prescribed "mito cocktail", my kidneys were back to the low side of normal. In another two weeks I was fully inside the normal range, where I have remained. No drug is a miracle drug. What works for one can kill another. I would know, as this drug, in my situation, was contributing heavily to an early demise. No thanks, I'm not ready to leave yet.

  12. I was started on metformin when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. A1C at that times was unmeasurable because it was so high. My blood sugars and A1C improved. Metformin was stopped when I developed chronic kidney disease due to asprin and ibuprofren use over the years. MD stated my blood sugar would likely be high. They were actually lower. Later a read a review that concluded that in a lot of people the metformin passed through the body and was never absorbed.

  13. Sorry I do not have the time to verify what I am saying, but I thought that 2012 study was done only on diabetics. Meaning that they couldn't have said anything about mortality of non-diabetics as suggested before 2:04 in the video. Also, I thought that 2012 study suggested that people taking metformin had a lower mortality, hence for longevity.

  14. honestly, does anybody know anything of what they’re giving people big Pharma controls everything they keep changing the numbers so that they put more people on drugs the drug side effects cause something else to happen to you, truly I think people were better off not taking any medicine and not going to doctors unless I absolutely had to. It’s become such a destructive industry.

  15. this really sounds to me like Dr. Boz is looking for a little extra cash from her buddies the big Farma.. Nothing she said makes any sence. Metformin is helped so many people in not only diabetes 2 but a bunch or other health issues and it's also been used longer than any of this new drugs. Shame on you doc.!!!!!!!
