  1. I’m currently two days post-surgery and went with custom LASIK (aka LASIK contoura) and my vision is as sharp, if not sharper, as my vision was with contact and I’m very happy to be able to see without glasses or contact lenses

  2. Do a video about BVD how it can get misdiagnosed as adult onset strabismus the best treatment options for double vision, vision thearpy vs sugery

  3. Often best to wait till you get cataracts and have IOL's fitted, which will have your eye prescription built in to them. In addition, my understanding is that if you have LASIK, it can later make cataract surgery more complicated. Also, in some countries, cataract surgery is free whereas LASIK isn't.

  4. The only reason why I won’t ever get vision correction surgery is because I don’t like my face without glasses, I personally feel I look better wearing them and would feel very self conscious if I no longer had to wear them. If this is something that you want go for it. But I would never go through permanent corrective treatments or wear contact lenses.

  5. I'm a week out from lasik. I'm already back to normal, can see clearly, no pain no anything! Dry eyes only lasted a few days but are fine now too

  6. I really wanted to undergo lasik or prk to both of my eyes as my R eye is -6.75 and L eye is -3.5.
But after the test the doctor said that I am not eligible for any laser treatment to correct my vision though my eye thickness is ok to perform laser…. Anyone with same issue like me???

  7. I don't want to risk it. I'd rather go with glasses/contacts, my vision is good enough. Imo either your situation really requires surgery and you'd better make all preparations to have the least risk as possible, or you can do just fine without it and wait for the better tech/never do it. Better safe than sorry, eyesight is life-defining thing to gamble with, there is plenty of possible side-effects than just getting your vision worse… Look up as much info as you can before deciding, and if you indeed decide to do the surgery, again, minimize the risks as much as you can. Minimum risk is still a risk, fully decide if it's worth it.

Very simplified: if you have 99% chance to become happy or 1% chance to become blind and end your life, will you take the risk? Evaluate very carefully. Still, it's a lot more complex than this example, but just to make a point. Don't be naive, and remember that money rule the world, there is many people out there who don't care about your life even if they look like the most charming and kind person. They will get their money at the expense of your suffering without blinking an eye, never regretting it. And even benevolent ones cannot 100% guarantee the success. Again, maybe with time, technology will evolve enough.

  8. My thing is.. I dont have dry eyes right now and I wear contacts.. I know I would be horrible at putting in eye drops in my eyes and I can see well enough right now with contacts. So why take the risk, spend lots of money, and then have to eventually get either contacts again with MORE dryness due to the lasik in the future. Spend 10k for 10-20 years max of no glasses and then to be put in contacts and glasses again? Or just continue with contacts forever and not have any risks of more dryness in the future?.

  9. Bro, be honest. you don't get Lasik because you know Lasik and PRK are life-ending procedures for many people. The suicides are off the chart. Why not serve humanity and call out the medical terrorism known as Lasik. You know it's wrong and not founded on solid science. If there is a God, you lasik surgeons and those that profit from it will surly go to hell.

  10. I evaluate because I'm thinking about laser correction. What I found: real statistics is hidden. It's not just 1%, but 10-30% of risk. From reviews I see that 90% have different side effects: lost capacity to see closer, hola effect, binocular or blurred vision, dry eye etc. Some people got serious problems, lost vision 80% or even worse, some have permanent pain, some even suicided. It is irreversible. So, it needs to evaluate risks and still is unclear reaction on this intervention, it's individual. I wanted to make LASIK, but now I'm not sure.

I had Lasik from a very reputable Dr. the over night recovery was excruciating. My vision was still poor and my eyes couldn't focus correctly anymore. They put me through a series of contacts over a year. Then preformed Lasik again. Same horrible recovery. This time eyes were good for about 3 days then got blurry. Went back to the Dr. They said I had epithelial cell growth. And preformed a procedure to scrape the cells out of my eyes. This procedure was repeated a second time. And still the cells returned. I was referred to another Dr. After my Lasik specialist gave up trying to help. The other Dr. Preformed an anterior keratectomy and removed the corneal flap that was damaged by the cell growth. And I've been in vision therapy ever since. I've lost my career. I'm on disability. I have emense light sensitivity, double vision, vestibular issues. And still can't see well. My vision fluctuates making correction useless. Any thoughts..? This is the short version of the story.

  12. My vision was completely fine with glasses/contacts but they just didn’t fit my lifestyle. LASIK made my work life safer and my home life more enjoyable. Seems like a lot of the complaints are doctors more concerned with the paycheck than an informed patient. Find a doctor that’ll sit you down and walk through your reasons and expectations.

  13. Hello Doctor, I am based in Mumbai, India. I did a LASIK surgery back in 2015 at the age of 21. I had a very high power in my eyes and post-surgery I was told that the sight in my left eye wouldn't be crystal clear. Also right after, I started facing issues like dry and puffy eyes and floaters vividly which have lasted a long till date; also my power has come back as a by-product of dryness. Well, I have consulted a dozen doctors complaining about the issues I faced, however, no one gave me an assertive response about a solution to all this, all they say is my cornea has turned flat and can't do anything to make the power turn zero. So my question to you is – 1) can I still get rid of the glasses? 2)is there a way to treat my dry and puffy eyes? 3) If none of the above works, are there any contact lenses you would suggest for me that would really be comfortable? If you've read this far, I'm really grateful to you and would hope to have a revert from you. Thanks @Doctoreyehealth

  14. Coming back to this at 4:38 I simply wish my Lasik surgeon told me this beforehand that it's not realistic to have the same perfect vision I had with contact lenses it definitely wouldn't have gotten lasik if so, but again they intentionally don't tell you this also the complications lasik causes. it's very disingenuous.

I honestly feel so bad and it's mentally and emotionally wrecking me so much that I went to a consultation without any foreknowledge on the subject and naively believing and hastily going into it without any time to think..I has destroyed me honestly

  15. You are immoral and unethical because you don't speak out against the barbaric, ineffective, dangerous and deadly elective surgery known as Lasik refractive surgery. You know it's wrong and immoral.
