  1. Vulnerable to air defense? Everything that flies is vulnerable. Ask Russia with its helicopters in Ukraine. An A-10 is significantly less vulnerable than a helicopter. All close support aircraft have to slow down to support the troops. Everything is pretty redundant on this plane. Update the electronics and call it a day. I bet an A-10 is cheaper than a helicopter and definitely cheaper than the proposal of having F-35s take over this role. An A-10 will fly further and faster than a helicopter and loiter longer than an F-35.

  2. lets be honest, its was being phased out so its costs them less to lose a few of these in the middle east when that restarts into americas new Vietnam rather than a $135million Fighter jet,

  3. The ammunition drum is capable of holding up to to 1,350 rounds, but the standard load-out is 1,174, the cyclic rate is set at 3,900 RPM and can be depleted In about 18 seconds, You can't much better CAS, than an A-10 and the AC-130 Gunship, which can rain hell on the ground. THX 🇺🇸
