There’s some story telling flaws you make a lot. For example: “He sat down next to her. Not like, uncomfortably close to her, but a respectful distance that conveys a sense of gentle compassion.” You could make it sooo much shorter, but just as impactful by saying, “He sat down beside her with a look of compassion in his eyes.” Show us a story, don’t tell us one.

If you ever want to the Maestas family…..I have some insight. Lol! Marilyn, the mother, is a twin. Their father had them at 15 and joined the army. Shes was nuts and had even nuttier kids. 2 of them. The father of the twins….was my own Father. A very decorated police officer whom held various positions like undercover narcotics, Organized crime division, prison psychologist, UHP, AP&P, and chief of police. Thick with irony! Lol! They were 30 when i was born.

The only way to stand him most days was to do the same. 2nd husband forever secured his spot on the sec offender/kidnapping registry when he kidnapped, beat and tortured me while 6.5 months pregnant for 4 days and nights….and again after his releases 3 more times (every time being arrested shortly after or in the spot i was at at the hospital)! I get it! Everyone is addicted to SOMETHING! Shopping, food, sex….whatever it may be. When people talk about things it makes others going through the same or similar things vindicated and more open to talking about it…taking its strength over them. 👏🏼👏🏼💗👏🏼👏🏼
