  1. Why YouTube vocal coaches mostly redheaded?
But, you’re really special. You’re the first who demonstrates how to sing. The others only talks

  2. I still can't believe that after two years, you still haven't reacted to Deadhead, at the Royal Albert Hall. An absolute belter. If you think he reaches decent levels in this, then the RAH performance is on another level!

For the love of God don't react top the live version from Plovdiv. I know it's not cricket to diss artists, but the orchestra in the back just sounded like a school band trying to play along. Really ruined a decent song!

  3. The thing to understand about Devin is he's been doing extreme metal for so long that he's gotten bored of all the "I'm so hardcore" posturing and can't help but take the piss.
He does the faces and the screams and the rock poses, but he just has to entertain himself sometimes, and of course play "The most epic guitar solo in EMG history [two notes]"

  4. The only thing on his lead vocal is reverb and compression. Anything else you hear is from his background vocals that are on the track he's playing with. He uses his voice as an instrument to create layers in the background blended with synth.

  5. This is one of the first of your videos I’ve ever watched. It’s been like 2 3 years now.
Just wanna say Lolli. You’ve been a bright star in my quiet little life and thank you.

  6. Such a shame we never had another reaction video to Devin… "Bring Him Home" would be a great example of a totally clear and sound effets-less of him singing. Still hope to hear a reaction video to his live performance of that piece from Les Miserables!

  7. Gotta say, his ad libs aside, this sounds pretty much identical to the studio version.
No, the guitar solo isn't that epic – he was…extracting the urine…because he muffed it last time.

  8. You are a vocal coach and never heard of this singer? Aren t you supposed to know about different genres of music and singers? I hope you don t have clients. Waste of cash.

  9. He's actually a phenomenal lead player, he was taking the Mick a bit here.
A song you should watch for him sounding more 'Disney' is 'Why?, if only to see his stage presence and to feel the vibe of one of his shows.
He has such a joyful way about him, all self deprecating, puerile and hoping to use his art as a tool to help him and us through our lives, I think he may be spectral as well iykwim, he reminds me of me.
And not just because he's precisely 365 days older than me.

  10. 'no one can go for 5 minutes without giving the chords a break'. Er.. try the first couple tracks from his record 'City' (by his band Strapping Young Lad)..

  11. I'm doubtful about whether you read comments on videos two years old, but on the off-chance you do I can recommend a song from his latest solo album Lightwork.

    Call of the Void

I'm not aware of there being a live video where he performs it so it might not be suitable for a reaction, but the song itself is just magical so if you don't react to it, just listen to it.
It is rather different from Kingdom, but just as good in my disgustingly humble opinion 🙂 The music video he released for it on his own YouTube-channel is also really cool and adds to the experience.

    Greetings from Sweden

  12. If you haven't already, you should interview him…..from what i've seen he's really really cool, answers questions, tells stories (on and off stage) and is as down to earth as a super creative artist can be (honest expression). Contact him if you haven't, we'd like to see that interaction.
