VAN RENOVATION: A MOUSE IN THE HOUSE

Van life pests are the worst threat for damaging wires. I need to figure this out for the new build. I had company at the shop last weekend and they helped me finish up the demolition of the van. I am ready for GOAT 2.0

  1. Hey Jonnie! 😊 Thanks for sharing the deconstruction of your van because it answered so many questions; especially the use of Havelock wool and the concerns of settling. I’m so excited to learn more from you!

  2. Oh no! I hate dealing with mice. We went years and years without one in the house, then this past year we had two! UGH! We also had a squirrel eat some wires under the hood of our hummer. That has never happened to us. Not sure what's up with animals these days. The demo part is probably the quickest part, but I don't think it's the fun part. I was too anxious to get to the building. Didn't have the patience for even a quick demo lol. Glad there was no nest under your cabinet area. Bonfire! Turn up the music and grab a beer! lol. Only 10 til 8. Maybe time change threw you off. Wow. She's pretty stripped down. Looking forward to see your re-build.

  3. It takes a special kind of courage to destroy your van and start from scratch. But it takes exceptional integrity to show the world your mistakes. Bravo!

  4. What a great opportunity to see what you did great & what you’ve learned over time! Hoping you figured out the varmints’ access point. Can’t wait to see the finished, new & improved van! 😊

  5. Oh no, I am so lucky I have never had a rodent inside my van but you might remember one chewed up my wiring for my backup camera. I am sure you won't have anymore little critters. you are an awesome van builder. I have styroboard insulation. It doesn't insulate very well. I just love all your helpers too. If I had anyplace else to live while doing it, I would seriously think about redoing my van build but it is working so I am not really unhappy.

  6. I had a mouse in my house too, at the end of my trip. Picked up the little hitch hiker I think after Yellowstone. The weather started to turn cold and I was boon docking. He seems to have found his way out as I haven't seen any signs of him.
