Like all of his other moves to coerce Deontay Wilder into accepting his ridiculous low-ball flat purse offers, Hearn's booking Wembley for Anthony Joshua's next two fights has backfired. Now Joshua has to jump through more hoops when he had a direct shot at Deontay Wilder's WBC title and Undisputed. Obviously, Wilder vs. Joshua won't happen in April. Should Joshua get past Povetkin, The Wilder vs. Joshua Mega Fight will happen in late summer/early fall 2019 in Las Vegas, with the 50/50 split that Wilder demands.
I don't know why people are suprised and this is why AJ's reputation is diminishing. But AJ's fans can lace up and fight on AJs behalf, just like he advised. True hero 😉

AJ and Barry Hearn told you guys from the start. Wilder fight will not happen until ‘the year after or the year after’, ‘the fight shouldn’t happen for another 2yrs’. These are the things they said and this is what they are doing. Of course it’s Whyte AJ is fighting in April. Been the plan from the start and the WBO mandating it is another cover up just in case Wilder or Fury shock them and accept a below par offer. They can then get the WBO to issue 24hr notice to fight Whyte 😂🙄. Utter nonsense 🙈.

Povetkin is definitely dangerous. Takam went 10 rounds with this new 'cautious' version of AJ, yet Chisora KO'd Takam in 8 rounds. Povetkin KO'd Takam viciously in 10 rounds 4 years ago and was the first man to do so. If it goes late i expect Povetkin to come on strong and really go for it unlike Parker who was also too cautious that night, Povetkin's overhand right combined with his movement definitely has the potential to put AJ on the floor again especially since he switches from body to head very effectively

You know, I have to give a huge amount of credit to Team Wilder. At first when Hearn made the first $12 million offer, it seemed like they were almost cornered into accepting a lowball offer, but now they're the ones that have manouvered themselves into having Team Joshua cornered. They actually pulled off that $50 million verbal offer publicity stunt, and now with the Tyson Fury fight and letting Joshua made to look like he's ducking for taking on mandatory challengers, and finally allowing Wilder to become well-known in the U.S. as the guy who Joshua is ducking. Fucking tremendous
I believe the AJ / Hearn camp with regards to the Wilder negotiations… there isn't any real evidence to the contrary and I'm an AJ fan. I would like to see AJ fight other top contenders before rematches but there are limited options. Ortiz would be good. Which ratings do you go by though? He has already fought the guys at 6, 9 and 10 as per BoxRec. However, BoxRec has Bellew at #4! AJ would destroy Bellew. I think he would clear out Jarell Miller who is #7, and everyone in the 11-20 as well. Chisora or Hughie Fury might be fun but I don't think any casuals will be happy unless its Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.
Personally I want to see a unified champ, so fully support AJ doing the mandatories until the WBC champ gets his act together (I think this will be Wilder because I'm deeply sceptical about the idea of a Wilder Fury match up, despite the current spin)

Joshua vs povetkin and Joshua vs whyte are still great fights, but it's largely overshadowed by fury vs wilder and the only person to blame is Hearn for not doing the wilder vs Joshua fight. We may moan about joashua wilder not happening but we still get these great fights plus wilder fury, great next 10 months of heavyweight boxing
