I don't think that our country and current times is nearly as stable financially socially and spiritually as they were when we stepped in to help other countries going through struggles in the past.
I just wish the two parties that run this country would all sit down together put together their wish lists and go through them one by one and come to agreement to the highest priority all the way down the list. The whole idea of disagreeing with one another just to disagree is doing nothing to help this country. No judge should be able to preside over a case that they are known to have opposition, or personal conflict with.
The idea that you are a judge hold you to a higher stature in society. With that comes a higher responsibility I'm moral discretion. This judge is not only a non supporter of the defendant, he has proven to be in opposition of this defendant as a person. He should have refused to take the case. The defendant will never get a fair trial.
The actual reason recharge went from a misdemeanor to a felony was because the statute of limitations was running out on the misdemeanor charge.
