  1. JUST GOTTA SAY THIS. AS MUCH AS I LOVE WW2 GAMES, I AM NOW Suffering from WW2 overload and burnout. What i really want now is an RTS with modern units and countries and weapons. Kinda Like Command and Conquer Generals with updated graphics. But alas, no one will build one.

  2. One game I'd throw into this ring would be Medic: Pacific War. It's not your typical World War 2 game where you fight the enemy but you play as a Medic in the Pacific and have to treat your wounded soldiers with whatever you find. And considering it's in the Pacific and you are an unarmed Medic. I can definitely see some potential survival horror type aspects of managing resources not for you but for your fellow soldiers.

  3. Best ww1 and ww2 games are battlefield 1 & 5. Hoi4 and maybe call to arms for strategy fans. If you're really into games representing these time period buy those games on sale and get happy!

  4. Part of the reason Nazism seems to have bubbled up to the surface is that people don't realize that allowing people to ever play as the Nazis humanizes their perspective.
Back in the 1990s, Nazis were always the bad guys and never a playable faction. But from 2001, you could play all sides, and despite the fact that, there is some weak narrative throughline that shows them as a flawed cause, but this doesnt offset the underlying canker of Nazi sentiment that is building up over time. In some games, you actively play as German against Russian. As if, the standard Soviet soldier shared an ideology as vicious as Nazism, let alone, to have the Nazis as the good guys and the Soviets as the bad.

We may be in the postmodern era, but narratives matter. Nazism is not just a different perspective.

  5. Trench Tales is not a WWII game.

The title should have been obvious as trench warfare wasn’t as commonly used in the Second World War as it was in the First World War.
