Looking for bad background acting is what I didn’t know I needed.
Braveheart scene where battle of sterling bridge is coming to an end, there's a skirmish between 2 soldiers at the top of a hill in the background swinging plastic swords at nothingness. That's the straw that made me throw my entire dvd player out the window. Fucking Gibson.
In sam raime spiderman the background actors are awful
Worst background actor I ever seen . Guy reporting on Ukrainians killed by Russia . Bodies laid out behind him under black blankets . Wind blows a blanket off a “dead man” , then he pulls it back over his face real quick . Remember he’s dead tho !

Extras create the atmosphere of the scene.
I was briefly a background extra on a British semi-reality TV show and that kind of acting is surprisingly hard to do, especially when (unless you're a regular or aspiring actor) its not something they're teaching and just telling you to do. A conversation alone had to be silent but also in a rhythm where it wasnt distracting, so either your slightly whispering to each other which risks someone acting as if they're trying to hear you or you stay quiet but are both expressing two quite emotions…
That was probably like the 9th-15th take and dude was trying to figure out how to sweep silently on set right beside actors.
Probably was just yelled at by a 3rd or 4th a.d. for sweeping too loud. lol.
What is this officially called?
I was watching an episode of The Boys once and noticed an extra walking past the two main characters, pretending to eat a burrito. They were very close to camera and you could clearly see them just… chomp the air directly above the burrito LOL
