“I still always choose 27 whenever I've got the opportunity – because of Gilles Villeneuve. If I see the number 27 in any context, whether I'm betting on a horse or anything, if it's 27 I will always bet 27 – because of Gilles Villeneuve.'' Jeremy Clarkson
This sport has so much abuse in horse racing it is unbelievable, if a human was put through this the people responsible would be serving life in prison. Most of these horses break there Legs and die or get thrown away to a kill pin to die because they didn’t earn enough money. My question is why would anyone think these horses like be forces to run or be drugged every day sometimes not for performance but for the horse so they wont fell the pain.
Hey gattergetyrgranny- Well most of the Thoroughbreds end up as sport horses. Many are used as pony club mounts. Hunters, jumpers, dressage, and event horses and show jumpers, and yes even cow horses.. The kill pens also end up with thousands of mustangs which supposedly are illegal to kill.. Explains that one to me genius before you condemn an entire industry for the economic realty that because of market economics causes horse- which are farm animals to end up like cows, hogs, chickens sheep etc.. The realty is people like you are the ones who truly only tell half the story.. best Bruce Peek
My questions, 1, what happens to the foals that arent racer's? 2, what happens to thoses that do not such a successful career? The horse racing industry as whole needs a bit more control on the breeding and what happens to horses. They are running being ridden before they are even done growing. These poor animals. I feel they must be no younger than 2 before they start their training
A very one sided account of the racing industry. Would love to see the flip side that shows what happens to the thousands of horses that don't run fast enough!!!!!
Comments: ''urgh, money, money, money, money'' Wtf do you think football is?………if you think horse racing is ''money'' whatever you do, don't google the total net worth of the Premier league. It might show your hypocrisy.
I sew how these poor horses end up and I don't mind telling you it was the Dark side of these poor horses ending up in a slaughter house or the pet food place. Friggin sad 😢
I recently recorded at the National Horse Racing Museum, and I find this scene fascinating. I particularly enjoyed that you interviewed a variety of people, including new owners, trainers, and jockeys. I found the interview with the jockey at the end the most fascinating, and I was surprised to learn just how much Frankel's stud encounters fetch to produce future winners! Awesome documentary. 🙂
I think this video is a lot older than you think. I looked up Havana Gold on Equibase and he was a 2010 foal, which means the sale you watched would have been in 2012. Unraced.
It all adds up to torture and slaughter for the horses.Horse racing of any kind is death no matter how beautiful or how much these horses make all these rich people care about is money.
The race horse s are not treated right and ship sale barn and sold kill buyers ans ship to slaughter there no so money off them after races and win or not they all go thur it poor horses it gow much theh lose out and people turn heads other way
I wanna race but I will NEVER do that.i will race a horse that is like… 7-8 years or more? I'd never force themselves to go that hard, mostly cuz I wanna be a vet and why would I do that? I'd probably give a tiny slap to get a stubborn horse going but never whip .I'd never startle the horse cuz then I'd get hurt and I might scare it.
Apart from the money from breeding and winning prize money, Owners trainers and yard workers know in which race the horse would be running and based on the track, distance, weather and competition they bet for or against the horse and make shot load of money.

I don’t care what they say, all those horses are perfect just the way they are ❤️ lol
F.
They should allow and require a biggervweight for all riders.
Beautiful documentary.
Very cruel. Horses are herd animals. One leader
"Pie O My" is my choice
Best sport ( gambling) just great
Frankel is a great horse, but Secretariat remains clearly the greatest overall horse of all time.
It is disappointing how much they didn’t tell us in this video.

If only they told us the real secret

It does have a dark, greedy, uncaring side. So it's bittersweet. Like a love-hate relationship.
Fabrizio is 0/10 and only 5k in prize money losing the owner 445k😂
get rid of horse racing.
I sew how these poor horses end up and I don't mind telling you it was the Dark side of these poor horses ending up in a slaughter house or the pet food place. Friggin sad 😢
You forgot trotting…
What's the difference between national hunt and a steeple chase?
4:08 LOL
Theres alot of hardship , hardwork and sweat to produce results in this industry.

There is a problem with this docu. Havana Gold is a bay with 3 white socks. The horse in the auction ring is a chestnut.
08:28 🤭 oops ! 😂
HORSE RACING IS ABUSE!!!!!!!
4:44 Wasn't this Fabrizio sold to Godolphin? Must have earned Graham a small fortune. Mission succeeded. 😁

I just hate it when there's some shitty bgm in an interview.

I’m not sure it’s a “secret world”
He never came to Kentucky

In the US, we license some of the worse trainers.
Hugo Palmer is really a champion trainer. His trained horse Dubawi Legend is a real rocket.

Horse racing is so mind numbing and boring,it wouldn't exist if there weren't enough mug punters to put money on it.
Disgusting humans
