Loved it! I watched it whenever possible and remember it fondly
I WAS WITH YOU…until that old hackneyed word 'cheezy"–which by now IS cheezy of itself—-popped up near the end. Please, let's put that amorphously vague word to rest and come up with something better. And while at it, get off this kick of "concern" over "personal agendas", which is getting far more tiresome by being constantly mentioned than any actual "agendas". themselves.
But…glad to see someone point out this show in general. Thumbs up for taking the time to discuss it.
Born in 58 and loved this. have it all now on DVD
Born in 1950, this was one of my favorite shows.
Stop calling people by their last names. Call them by their first names.
Ziv wasn't an acronym or abbreviation. It was the name of the company's founder, Frederick Ziv.
I remember this show, saw it in the 60s
This TV program had an influence on my having a career in science and engineering.
This was my favorite program when I was a kid. I even bought SF novels and went to the movies that were SF. My favorite episode was "Time is Just a Place"l.
Science Fiction Theater…..Loved it!
I loved this show
Very informative and very interesting video. Oft to check out the availability of the box set cheers and thanks for letting us know
I remember this series
I was 12-years-old when I watched Science Fiction Theater regularly. I remember the host reviving a fish from a block of ice to show suspended animation.
My absolute favorite show period. I started watching a couple years after the end of production. I was 6 in 1960 and we had some funky cable tv in Pendleton Oregon that collected channels from Washington and Idaho too. I made sure I was home at 5pm to watch it. It helped spur my interest in all things science and my choice of education. The topics were fascinating and I even remember being a bit edgy watching a couple of them. It wasn't full of unproven laughable conjectures or alien lore other than the UFO investigation episode mentioned here. A misleading title for the show though. It's more science than fiction and if it's still a dream Truman Bradley usually mentions it. Boy, what a childhood memory!
Watched Science Fiction Theater faithfully as a kid. Great and inspirational show. Hey, in the pan of the room at the beginning, they showed my telescope and, inspired by it all, I became an astrophysicist. PS: However, in the shot in your clip with the robot and the blond with long legs, I looked at the blond first. Then, and again, now. 🙂
Every episode I've seen was well scripted and well acted. It was heads and shoulders above the current crap.
I have seen episodes of this and other old sci fi shows and love seeing them all. Thanks for sharing👍
I still love that show!!!! It was awesome!
I love this show! I watched it in 61. Then I bought it on VHS and watched it again. Vincent Price and Martin Milner were on a bunch of them.
Star Trek meanwhile was always social commentary… but the original series didn't try to bully shame the audience.
I was born in 1947 and all our heads were Magnetized
to our TV for EVERY episode. We were all science fair kids
and mr and my brothers were always trying to get our hands on whatever science gear we needed forvthie fields we were interested in.
We all ended up in tech fields or direct research.
The serious effect here is that thousands of bright minds chose science careers to the great benefit of the U.S. Because of seeing SFT as young kids….
I recall it was a huge disappointment for a kid who wanted to see monsters and dinosaurs instead of hard science. Science Fiction Theater was a snoozefest I'd sit through to get to The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms on Saturday afternoons.
I was born in '46 and never missed an episode.
Tales of Tomorrow was the first sci-fi anthology series, a few years earlier than this one. I have that show on DVD but I think I need to pick this one up too.
MY FAVORITE SHOW BACK THEN. GREAT OPENING MUSIC AND ENDING. TRUMAN BRADLEY COULD NOT BE BETTER IN ALL SHOWS. MY AGE, 79. SORRY YOU MISSED A WONDERFUL SHOW IN EARLY TV. NOW YOU WATCH CRAP !!
Born in 1950 this was my favorite television show. It is amazing how many of the futuristic discoveries in the show became true years later.
Science fiction theater was also on channel 44 WTOG St Petersburg,Florida (next to Tampabay)! I would watch this and Tampabay creature double feature on channel 44! Channel 44 aired this in the late 1970s.
