  1. I WAS WITH YOU…until that old hackneyed word 'cheezy"–which by now IS cheezy of itself—-popped up near the end. Please, let's put that amorphously vague word to rest and come up with something better. And while at it, get off this kick of "concern" over "personal agendas", which is getting far more tiresome by being constantly mentioned than any actual "agendas". themselves.
But…glad to see someone point out this show in general. Thumbs up for taking the time to discuss it.

  2. My absolute favorite show period. I started watching a couple years after the end of production. I was 6 in 1960 and we had some funky cable tv in Pendleton Oregon that collected channels from Washington and Idaho too. I made sure I was home at 5pm to watch it. It helped spur my interest in all things science and my choice of education. The topics were fascinating and I even remember being a bit edgy watching a couple of them. It wasn't full of unproven laughable conjectures or alien lore other than the UFO investigation episode mentioned here. A misleading title for the show though. It's more science than fiction and if it's still a dream Truman Bradley usually mentions it. Boy, what a childhood memory!

  3. Watched Science Fiction Theater faithfully as a kid. Great and inspirational show. Hey, in the pan of the room at the beginning, they showed my telescope and, inspired by it all, I became an astrophysicist. PS: However, in the shot in your clip with the robot and the blond with long legs, I looked at the blond first. Then, and again, now. 🙂

  4. I was born in 1947 and all our heads were Magnetized
to our TV for EVERY episode. We were all science fair kids
and mr and my brothers were always trying to get our hands on whatever science gear we needed forvthie fields we were interested in.
We all ended up in tech fields or direct research.
The serious effect here is that thousands of bright minds chose science careers to the great benefit of the U.S. Because of seeing SFT as young kids….

  5. I recall it was a huge disappointment for a kid who wanted to see monsters and dinosaurs instead of hard science. Science Fiction Theater was a snoozefest I'd sit through to get to The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms on Saturday afternoons.

  6. Tales of Tomorrow was the first sci-fi anthology series, a few years earlier than this one. I have that show on DVD but I think I need to pick this one up too.

  7. MY FAVORITE SHOW BACK THEN. GREAT OPENING MUSIC AND ENDING. TRUMAN BRADLEY COULD NOT BE BETTER IN ALL SHOWS. MY AGE, 79. SORRY YOU MISSED A WONDERFUL SHOW IN EARLY TV. NOW YOU WATCH CRAP !!
