I hope butter isn't racist because I have an uncle nick named because of his love for it. My Dad had 8 brothers and 2 sisters. They grew up between the 50s to 80s in Rural Tennessee. My Grandpaw took a job working on a dairy farm, well when I say he took it, I really mean the family took it. My Dad was the oldest and quit school in the 4th grade to help keep up the family. My Uncle Jerry quit in the 3rd. Around this time in their lives Dad was around 12 and Uncle Jerry was 11. My Uncle Roger was around 4 to 6. Uncle Roger aka Butter Ball was the baby at the time. Dad would has told me stories about that time in his life. From milking cows to getting into trouble for spilling the contents of the churn because instead of churning him and Uncle Jerry would be acting a fool dancing around with the churning stick and breaking the ceramic churn lid or going nuts acting like wild men banging it up and down until they either broke a stick or ended up knocking the churn over and spilling the contents or cracking the churn. I am starting to get a bit off subject though 😅. After they churned and churned to render that butter, Granny would take a big sheet of wax paper and lay it out on the dinner table of the small 2 bedroom house they lived in granted to them rent free as a part of working on the farm. She would take that butter and roll and work it into a ball with her hands, wrap it and take it down in the celler. Although they all practically lived off of corn bread, butter, whatever they grew in the garden, and soup beans when she was able to go to the grocery store, my Uncle Roger ❤ the butter. He would eat it on anything, with anything, or by the spoonfuls by itself. That is how he got the nick name Butter Ball and everyone still calls him by that this day. My family is as white as powdered milk except for a pinch of Cherokee blood that flows through our veins, so if butter is racist I guess my entire Dad's side of my family, including me, are racist and I know that can't be true.
