  1. Really nice video, I want to add that a ton of interesting stuff did (and did not) go down during the 1600s for China. Here the first idea of "internal" and "external" art arose, but it was probably political (Anti-Manchu) in nature, and the vague descriptors for "internal" were, as you mentioned, described hundreds of years prior but may not have been called "internal".

The military before the 1600s was alsosuper disorganized which necessitated commoners to learn and develop martial arts, but the first detailed systems weren't recorded until after the 1600s. Specifically after the mid 1600s, commoners gradually developed well-documented martial arts systems, and began to increasingly combine them with Qigong principles (though this combination probably happened much earlier at Shaolin). Regardless, the connection between Daoist principles became super common during that time, and the most influential written materials emerged during the 1700s.

Then, it wasn't until around the 1900s that Bodhidharma was credited as the creator of Shaolin, and at the same time Zhang Sanfeng was credited as the creator of Tai Chi, again likely for nationalistic purposes just like with the earlier (1600s) distinction of "internal vs. external", which was actually the first time Zhang Sanfeng was described as a martial artist (no mention of Tai Chi).

  2. Why is there no mention to what happened on africa, america or oceania? I guess that were humanity reaches, war goes with it, so i think that australian aboriginals, native americans and native africans must have (or have had) a lot of fighting techniques.

  3. ok Buddhist monk came from India and went to China but how did other fighting style of martial arts spread across all Asia come from because the Buddhist monk he went to China that's the question I want to know 🤔

  4. The people that lie about martial arts and when they are doing martial arts should never fight or never speak to anyone or anything, you should stop lying and work harder, you should practice more and work harder instead of lying about you self and all the thing a person have work hard to make and put together to make himself a better and stronger person, all you liars should stop and never do martial arts, this not a world for liars (Sem) 4.89 12.23

  6. There is no way anything is older than boxing or wrestling. Two of the most primal forms that are always used even if ur not trained and yet people think there were people hitting pressure points and joint locks. Tell me when anyone gets mad the first thing u do is ball a fist even a baby

  7. Excellent! Long one of your subscribers, I mentioned you in my book "Strategic Advantage: How to Win in War, Business, and Life." Keep up the fantastic work!

  8. @Martial Arts Journey 1. If martial arts is defined in with weapons, then the earliest is cave drawings from Spain showing using bow and arrows which is around 10,000 years. If Martial Arts is defined as hands feeet (no weapons) then it needs a little bit more information, Egypt wrestling is pictured around 2400 BC, Epic Gilgamesh written around 2100 bc, cave drawings in France around 15000-20,000 bc and Mongolia around 7000 BC all show wrestling. So, I think it needs more research for your history
