You can find the underground children by talking to one of the tiefling kids who is selling stuff. While talking to her you can catch another kid pickpocketing you and there's a way to follow her into that cavern with the kids.

What Remains of Edith Finch is also a worthy and profound experience. It’s a story about family and our human mortality in all of its shades. Ultimately it’s a game that both explores the tragedy of our ends while also celebrating the fact that we even exist in the first place. It only takes 2 hours to finish but may stay with you forever.
