That to me was actually pretty depressing!!
The most bothersome thing about this story is that obtaining external characteristics of socially accepted beauty is what was considered the miracle and necessary. It perpetuates the ridiculousness of superficiality. Laura and Oliver were both beautiful as is. Scars and all. And their need to be seen as anything other than who they are is sad. A person in love, loves the scars, both internal and external, they don’t fail to see them. They accept and love them.

If you want to quit in the first 5 min.. you are right The first 30 min are pointless, they'd have tell the same in 5 min. Laura is a nurse, Tom was in the war, he came back injured and broke up with his fiance. The owner of the cottage has lost her beloved husband. THATS IT. Now go and watch it since 28:16 .. Yw
The writing is clumsy but she is adorable, so I watched the whole thing.
This is a remake. The original was released in 1945. It starred Robert Young and Dorothy McGuire. This movie was good but the original is much better, more detailed and better acting. I do believe it is available on YouTube.

There's an older version of this movie that I watched while babysitting in the 70s, and it was from the 40s(?).
I think that Laura is beautiful without any makeup, however i hope they glam her up before the end . Just watched them get married . Maybe soon they will ?

God Bless this woman who is so patient with this soldier in his special time of need!! He has a right to want to be alone + not need to have anyone staring at him which happens in a hospital or a nursing home!! I'm so glad he's had the nurse help him where she has + he broke up with fiance who I feel didn't really love him!! The nurse is the one who has really helped him in everyway!! The Enchanted Cottage will perform it's magic on them + bring them together!! They already started with the spaghetti + he really enjoyed it!! I'm so sorry he had to go thru all this to realize the nurse is the one for him!!
