As someone who has worked on many fire projects for FEMA and have seen the destruction these fires cause, I can without a doubt confirm DEWs are being used. Seen way too many anomalies and have spoken to 20-30 fire veterans who have said that these fires nowadays don’t act anything like they used to back in the day.

FEMA approved payments for housing for condos, apartments and cottages and ohana’s (small dwellings on owners properties).
These places would receive $10,000 a month to provide housing.
But FEMA did not approve many people for housing. So hundreds (maybe thousands) of dwellings are sitting empty while the owners have been collecting $10,000 a month for a year.
Millions of dollars down the drain.
