Technology may have improved our lives in some ways but its also dulled our minds. In the 90s I had the phone numbers of dozens of friends memorized and could dial any of them error free. I didnt think, they came to me naturally. Now its hard to keep 10 digits in my mind to dial on the keypad. So we have the collective knowledge of all mankind available to us in seconds, but people themselves arent going to possess knowledge or the ability to retain it.

These tech CEOs are so naïve or deliberately lying in saying employees will keep their job and will only be enhanced versions of themselves working with AI. companies would only spend the money for AI for the purposes of laying people off. Otherwise whats the point. AI should be used for government and healthcare applications only. AI in the commercial space is no different then saying its ok for professional athletes to take steroids. There are no further vertical growth opportunities for “knowledge workers”. Its a horizontal career move only to see your job being eliminated again and again. This is not like the horse carriage conductor forced to find a job as a driver. A software developer or engineer who loses his job to AI is effed and then societal decay begins. All this begs the question…whats the rush? where you going that you need additional efficiency in your life by AI? are we all set to day someday in the near future?
