I hold the door for people, and I wait for everyone's food to be served before I eat. That's how I wascraised.

I'm in a conservative part of Texas, most of us still had manners drilled in to us from a young age. I always hold the door for older people, it's a show of respect, and I always say thank you and offer a smile when a man holds the door for me, a sign of appreciation. If you are served first, you wait for others to get their food before eating. 😁

I remember when my visited one of my grandparents' house, they liked to shake our hands before we left.
If you have to wait for them if you hold the door for them then just pass through.
If someone is being polite I say, 'Thank You". If you're late you call and apologize then ask if they still want to meet.

I would not throw my dog poop in someone else's trash. I do know exactly what you're talking about, holding the door for the person behind you. It can get awkward, and I do get into a little back and forth with myself over that same thing.
I also believe in telling people the truth. 💯 Though I get where you're coming from, I also care about people's feelings as well. I believe there's a balance. We are all human and we all mess up sometimes, and most times, yes, it's a choice we make. It's important to remember that being a jerk is a choice too. I feel spilling truth while treating folks with dignity, respect and kindness goes a long way and brings about real change. Empathy goes a long way. Just my opinion.

It seems most of my friends and family will say on my way (most live within 10 minutes of me) or I will be there at 5 and 3 hrs later I call them to see where they are.

Today being late is normal and it kills me. Video games keep you up all night? I am early by hours. I eat, enjoy my coffee and socialize with the crew.
I hold doors open coming or leaving. Its what I do. I would back out to allow a couple or elder to enter.
Woman here. I usually hold the door open if there's someone else entering behind me. And yes, I've experienced that awkward moment myself, from both sides. If I'm one having the door held open for me, I simply get into a gentle jog with a smile to catch up so that the courteous person doesn't have to hold the door for too long. It also annoys me when I'm right behind another person and not only do they not hold the door open but they also barely open the door wide enough for me to catch it for myself.

I damn sure ain’t eating cold food and if I ordered cold food I ain’t waiting for it to get warm!!! Im diving right in! Cause all my friends would do the same thing unless it was a dinner and we were going to say Grace over the food then I wait!!

I think people just need to be honest about when they say they're going to be where they're going to be! If it's really going to be 5 minutes then be 5 minutes! I'm the type of person I'm either early 95% of the time The other 5% I'm on time!

At 61, I always thank a person who holds a door for me or stops for me to cross the road, I also make a point to be aware of what is happening around me so if need be, I can stop to let someone cross. I hold open doors if someone is close behind me and my rule of thumb is, if I am not 15 minutes early, I am late. And finally, I never start eating my meal until everyone has been served.
