  2. I'm a completely blank slate. Haven't touched a weight in 15 years and even then it wasn't much. For fun giving it a go this way cause I want to keep the workouts short and see what it does to a novice. Thank you for the content as always.

Jeff I'm a 59-year-old man and started lifting two and a half years ago after a 15-year layoff I totally was atrophied my body went up to 320 lbs I'm usually around 245 and I've this type of routine with a little variation to work around some past injuries. Perhaps a little bit more like a Yates routine, I train every 4 days one day's upper second days lower I'm currently at 255 and I imagine when I lose this next 15 pounds or so I'll probably be in the best shape of my life except with old skin LOL the upper workout lasts around 50 55 minutes and lower around 45 to 50 minutes and that's with 10 minutes of steep incline treadmill. the first day I walked at 3 miles per hour on 3% grade and I think I threw up but since then with at least 8 hours sleep and proper nutrition I've dropped 70 lb or thereabouts and feeling better everyday keep up the good work Jeff
So to my fellow gym rats It's never too late to start and because of my health now I know the best years of my life are ahead of me 🤙

  4. Hi, when I watch your videos I get enthused every time. I’m 60 now and I’m still pushing weights. My question is, what unit of measurement are you using when you say 80's, Is it Kgs or LBs?
It’s just nice to know what weight you’re pushing. When you say lighter or heavier it leaves me guessing.
Okay, thanks for all the videos. Keep strong.

  5. Thank you! This is the video I was looking for to substitute an exercise for flies. No matter how hard the focus is on proper form too easy to strain the shoulder cups. Thank you for showing in detail proper form!

  6. I am a 33 year old woman looking to grow my chest and glutes Houdini go about doing this?! It seems like if I exercise I shrink and if I don’t I gain weight is there anything I can do at home to help increase size?

  7. Damn, that's inspirational even for me and I'm a badass with similar training principles. True story 👏 absolutely phenomenal effort. Well done.

P.S. That was one the longest "set" I've ever seen lol Also, I agree about beginner's beware. I think really good stability is a prerequisite

Love your channel and appreciate your insights

  8. I started Mike Mentzer programs about a year ago and got some pretty decent gains as a natural 55 year old male. For example my incline dumbbells went from 55 lbs 8 reps to current 85 lbs 6 to 8 reps . I have definitely got stronger on every exercise which creates muscle growth.

  9. The video I watched the other day on you and Mentzer had the push last 5 seconds, the hold last 5 seconds, and the eccentric return lasting 5 seconds. 5 reps of that. I'm in passable shape for almost 73, and my muscles are gassed trying to push by the 4th or 5th rounds…then I drop the weight 10 pounds if necessary to finish the 5 rounds. We'll see how it goes.
