The story about 'There is a demon on this island' is an absolutely fantastic tale!
It is fantastically creepy, and well told (as usual!)… The history of the settlement, the graveyards and few ruins that were left was also interesting… and such history as presented and the pacing of the story, how it builds through the lighthouse keeper's experiences, the private owner, etc… and later…
Geez- This should be be written and published as a short story (maybe a novella?) in the modern popular 'high-strangeness' or even 'cosmic horror' idiom- It seems to have it all. (Even the writing- though there is a difference between that which is designed to be read and those stories to be told…)
These days print (or, really, mostly online/e-book) is still a viable mediun, and this story definitely deserves to be published in such, imvho!)
… Just a thought 🤔. I share this story with friends that arehave a simaler taste in literature (which I would like to think is marginally sophisticated) as I do.
The bottom line? This, and many of your other posts, are of a quality that is beyond just YouTube (although there is not wrong with that!).
Also, the (un)people, the storm, the 'pig squeals:'… Yeah… Nope! I love it!
pronunciation is pah-tah-wah-tah-mee
I’ve been to rock island literally hundreds of times. Never heard anything and never heard anyone ever say anything good about “haunted stuff”
When I was about 7 or 8 my friend mike moved into a new house. It was an old 3 story building in a quiet or hard neighborhood that had fallen into disrepair. He started looking really tired in class and I asked him if he was sick. He told me the old woman doesn't let me sleep. I stayed over at his new house a couple weeks later and eventually we went to sleep. I remember waking up from a bad dream having to pee very badly. The washroom was on the main floor and his bedroom the third. I didn't want to get out of bed but nature called. After using the washroom I washed my hands and started heading to the base of the stairs. There was an overhead light at the top of the stairs and it cast the silhouette ofa woman down the stairs…. cold fingers of fear swept up my back sending all of my hair on end, and In a feeble voice I called out his mother's name…"Deby?" There was no reassuring voice but the silhouette gently relaxed its posture and started to step down the stairs. To my horror it fell forwards in to a shuttling crawl moving with unnatural speed and burst into a cloud of inky black mist that engulfed me swirling then settled and disappeared. I was left hyperventilating on the floor, the bathroom door behind me slowly and methodically started creaking. This cut through the panic and I managed to get my legs under me and I hurried back to my friends room. I hid with the sheets pulled up to my eyes and the pillow over my head. I couldn't fall back asleep and sat there listening to the creaking of the hallway floor boards until the sun came up. When Mike woke up, he rubbed his eyes and took one look at me. "You saw her!" He said is a hushed voice.
Well, demons are just about everywhere, so…
Too many adds. Greedy bastard
Porcupines make a very loud and creepy squeal…..they are also nocturnal so they he sounds might likely have been them…..
Hot drink yes! Turn out lights, NO! No, no, no!
Rock Island sounds like it's very very haunted… by porcupines. They make super weird squeaky noises, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were what was squealing.
Y is the camp fire 🔥 going backwards 😮
"I heard an inhuman squeal in the woods…"
Ok but, have you ever heard raccoons fucking? Because that shit's downright demonic.
Only discovered u tonight. And love what I hear.you have a unique talent for helping us get to sleep but in a pleasant way. 😊❤🎉 from a listener from Ireland 🇮🇪.
