You know this only goes for cash tips that people probably don't report anyway. A lot of receipts electronically done and those don't count. Something about a seniors can't apply for Medicaid until their age 64. It's raised from 62. I thought you could only apply for Medicaid if your income was low I am so confused if somebody needs it it doesn't matter how old they are so this bill is a big mess up fat. And the no tax on overtime only for people making under $100,000. And our debt will increase I don't know if they counted the bloat about the Democrats get to keep because that Medicaid doesn't go in until after Trump leaves office. We can't I use cable or electric or deductions like seniors were using I didn't even know we could do that but you can no longer do that you know this bill it's going to increase and nobody wants to deal with the us anymore so that better be a no

Why no tax on tips? So single moms and lazy teens get a bump but the hard workers that work overtime to keel america running dont get anything??? I think the rich will be 'tipping' eachother for stuff under the radar now

"No tax on tips or overtime"-Does this mean only federal income tax? Will the FICA tax still be assessed? FICA is currently 6.2% for the employee and 7.65 for the employer. The deduction is reflected in your social security payment when you retire or are disabled. Is no tax for FICA a good thing?

How about give everyone a tax break !!! We all work as hard and there are those of us who don't get tips. I think tip nation has gone too far. I can see a waitress getting $ 3.00 an hour and needing those tips, but tip nation has flooded other industries who really don't deserve to get tips. If you are getting miniimum wage and over, there is no reason to expect tips. Tips were originally for those making under minimum wage. Now, money is money, so tips should be taxed. Unless it's a gift.
In the No Tax on Tips Act, the provision specifying that only cash tips are eligible for the tax deduction is located in Section 2(c)(1) of the bill. This section defines "qualified tip" as "any cash tip received by an individual in the course of such individual's employment in an occupation which traditionally and customarily received tips on or before December 31, 2023, as provided by the Secretary."
This is total BS. First of all it’s only on cash tips which is basically no one hardly gives cash tips anymore. Secondly it’s only up to $25,000 which if you work in a high priced restaurant, you’re definitely making a lot more than that in tips over the year. This is total BS and people are idiots for believing it without even reading what it is.
Why should someone get non taxed income for doing the highly skilled and dangerous act of walking a plate full of food to a table while a construction worker surrounded by truly risky situations has to pay tax on every dime they are paid.
