A girl in seventh grade was being bullied by a few guys in her grade walking home from school. They threw large rocks at her. I was in eighth grade and I stopped that bullying with force . About 3 or 4. Very badly. I’m a fighter and I protect people. It’s my personality. She was never bullied ever again. Bullying has no place in any civilized society. None. So many teachers or parents whoever just let it slide. Not me. Do something, say something. Bullying is as much physical as it is psychological, emotional, etc. Children learn bullying from their parents not “tv”, not “movies”. Facts.
Never of this before now, cool movie though, took me a bit to remember the teacher being that character in Idiocracy. Good post

I was bullied in junior high so my dad took me out of school and I went to a cosmetology school when 18 and became a hairdresser. Later when i got married and had my daughter, I didn't want her to ever be bullied for any reason so I home schooled her. She got her GED and went to nursing school where she graduated at the top of her class. If anyone can afford to homeschool, please do so because people who are bullied are the tender hearted individuals that often never get over this emotional abuse. With God's help, though, my heart has healed and I have forgiven them.

My husband and I were both bullied throughout school, and me also throughout my working life. It doesn't end once you are employed, for ME, I attempted suicide several times by several different means. All our 3 children were bullied, mercilessly; it is in epidemic proportions throughout society, backstabbers are relentless even posing as managers, and bosses. It doesn't end. You try to tell your story you end up being a whistle blower, and we all know what happens to whistle blowers. We are either murdered or we commit suicide. The evil ones never accept their blame !
This make a lot of us angry, very angry, Some of us are reliving things just watching this movie. My mother was a strong willed woman. Bullies feared her because of an example she made out any one that messed with us. Back then when one of those bullies got home bloodied up by my mother they where asked the same question. (What did you do ?). The police never questioned a parent that punched a bully back then.
Fact is a mental health look is not taken into the monsters and the houses they come out of.
Bullying does NOT stop after school.
So the asshole father got away scot free, of course. Assholes always do. Other than that – really good writing.

One-eye symbolism in the thumbnail. Once you start noticing this stuff, it's impossible to unsee.
What a terrible movie. Guy lost his teaching career and his girlfriend because of some high school prick!
So this Guy's in prison for beating a kid up? For pulling a gun on the other guy?
Is anybody else getting a slightly sinister Clark Kent vibe off of this guy? Especially when that lock of hair comes down curl-like across his forehead just like in the Superman movies and the Superman show all the way back to George Reeves
Interesting ending, I was happy for a good ending for a minute but it left me wanting to see a slightly different scenario. And I have questions! Thanks for sharing this thought provoking film.
Why is he in jail?
For every loved one we've lost to terminal cancer… imagine if we could have removed the cancer…just simply removed it.

A of my very close friend of mine missed a lot of school because of a rare decease he was finally getting better back at school a couple of kids were picking on him I was sitting two rows away from him, this one bully held a pencil straight up where he was going to sit down
I flew across those desks but I was too late I had to pull it out of him but.
I had tears in my eyes well the rest of the kids were laughing
My friend died two weeks late from lead posing.

It’s sick twisted American Anglo-Saxon culture it’s not there in India at least never was bullying harassment bias stems from inferior esteem insecurities nothing else in bid to dominate other by abuse because nothing else besides that exist in you who was that asshole who coined quote ‘ attack is best defense? Bullies should be given same treatment back with exposure in society as what they do ,only then it will be understood by these assholes and would be assholes what not to do next time

excellent movie. though i wish society would teach people more to stand up for themselves and not be victims. I graduated in 2003, in 2002 as the first year when a fight was dealt with who started it, to anyone involved gets suspended no matter who started it and to lay down and wait for help. Then they wonder why there are issues with our kids. we dont teach them to b strong, we teach them to wait and weak.
