I grew up with guns and my father taught us to respect them.
Do you know why we in Croatia, yes, tiny little European country, don't use or need guns in our everyday lives? Education and upbringing. You can promote this all you want but you had so many school shootings I can't even count, to only mention some catastrophis examples, while we never had any. We dont have armed robberies either, it's very rare. Or someone killing someone else for some idiot reason. Sure, people go crazy here too and do horrible things, usually ending it with ending their own lufe too, but it's very rare. Because we are brought up a diffe6eay and we're more educated. Sorry, not sorry, but I've seen a lot of videos where American students couldn't do grade school math so yeah, that would explain things like that neurosergeon killing his patient if I asked myself how on earth do you manage to become doctors for example. So no, allowing everyone to have guns like in the Wild West you're stuck on, isn't a good solution. People will just end up killing each other left and right, because you looked at someone wrong. Maybe they should, I don't know. But I do know it's not a solution, it's changing things from the core, and that's the early childhood and onward. Changing the mindset from early on, into a compassionate and understanding one. Cultivating morality and intelligence.
The professor needs to get to the point –
Actually dude, there is something wrong with smoking weed. It makes you dumb. This is an exactly new news. It also makes you less able to exert yourself mentally and physically. It basically handicaps human beings in most practical situations. It is a product you would want your competition/adversary to use. Encouraging it is bad for all parts of society. The helpful benefits are bs, the American heart association says that no person with any family history of heart disease should ever use it. That's because it doesn't really relax you, it increases your heart rate. That means it puts you in a panic mode, but fools you by constricting you. It increases heart rate in 100% of all people that use it.
Beyond that, American pows is during the Korean war smoked a great deal of it. That's because they're captors (the Chinese), encouraged to them to grow it and use it. Consequently not one American prisoner of war attempted to escape.
There are things wrong with marijuana. Don't be a loser.
I think all three young people did a fine job asking questions and responding. I’ve seen this professor before. I appreciate his approach to class discussion. It’s nice when there is a forum presented where these types of talks can take place without the hostility so the modeling of dialogue can be seen. This is the foundation upon which the next layer of opinion and argument formation can take place because this isn’t where you want People to stay. You want healthy debate to force people to reevaluate their presuppositions and learn more about their positions and either change or become more convinced on their views.
Oh, and go ahead and weed shame away, Emily. I’m in a state where pot is legal and it’s a real problem for quite a few of my students most of whom whose parents use. Another grand social experiment that is gonna backfire. Sorry, not a fan.
It's true that when good guys can't have guns, only bad guys will have guns. As you've said! Bad guys don't obey the law because they're bad guys.
Great job Emily! I grew up in York PA too and there are a lot of good people there, with good family values, that use guns responsibly and for personal protection as well!!

Why promoting a program like this why does guns have such a special place in society very irresponsible is that the way to promote peace think again!!!!!! My word that student said to have a weapon to protect yourself who wants to visit your country if you need something like that it's sickning!!!!
This professor is a bit squirrelly; he is aching to conform completely to the left woke PC bullshit but there is a part of him governed by his intelligence and that part won't let him capitulate. He compensates by using all the catch phrases and mannerisms of the lefties and constantly offers soft apologies to them, for being in possession of a functioning brain. While he does to some extent encourage open dialogue it is clear where his heart lies. Watchable, but only just. Of course, by comparison to most of the dingbats on college faculties nowadays, he is an intellectual and moral colossus. Also is painful how much he has to dumb down concepts so that the dopey students will be able to comprehend.

As far as BackGround checks with no past being too liberal to get a gun. You can’t prevent a Right based on something someone may do. Thats what the 2A and the right self defense is for. The things people may do.
If you lie about smoking weed on your background check you could end up like Hunter.
