i sometimes think the modern youth doesn't really care what they are 'protesting' about. It's all about the process – like, adrenaline, the feeling of "togetherness" and "againstsystemness". And it doesn't matter whether it is about Palestinians, whales' rights, climate, against oil, against socks with sandals, or against pizza with pineapples.
Sometimes this leads to overriding the system. This gives a huge explosion of happiness among them, but then comes the hangover – the anarchy, crime, etc. But they still would blame the government simply because they got used to this. They need to have someone to blame.
