Best for on sale or gamepass and be aware gamepass has less upscaling choices.
A great game in the genre but one that doesn't do anything new.

Hi ACG. I like your channel. I think you just lack in reviewing more games. I often look to your channel’s reviews of games, but to no avail. Please broaden your game reviews. Just my honest feedback!
No shadow of the turdtree review copy?
Honestly, I loved it for the story alone. It's better than any horror movie I've seen in the past couple years
I'll get it on a sale down the line. The Thing is getting a remaster soon too.
meh idk. If a movie was 6 hours long it would need to have a really good reason to be that long. I have a hard time believing there aren't a lot of moments in this game that feel like wasted time.
It actually looks pretty cool, and seems interesting.I believe I will get it down the road though on sale.I got enough to play right now,and the only thing I am buying right now, other than what I have to play already is Elden Ring DLC…
Just beat the game after buying it on PlayStation. Seem to be some graphics issues where the game didn’t register some commands or button prompts wouldn’t trigger right. But I loved it zero regrets buying it I plan to platinum it which is rare. I haven’t platinum a game in couple years.
The months where game pass pays for itself.
Well you convinced me with your through review. I'll never play this. I can't deal with walking sims. But it is a good graphic game.
This game is basically “A Color Out of The Thing: Isolation”
Looks like it should be a vr game. Or would be a good addition to it.
The characters are brilliant. Nothing like a Scottish accent screaming and swearing 😂😂😂
In the past, games used to throw you directly into the gameplay, I played this game, it started, we go for an hour, have a few words of dialogue with him, then go up and have a few conversations with this guy, wander around for an hour until you get to what the game promises, like a walking simulator. In my opinion, as we tried to be realistic and filmic, games ceased to be gameish and fun.
Dont play it on game pass. The gamepass version has NO DLSS or FSR and and it runs like crap. Game is barely playable without DLSS or FSR. My specs are above recommended and yet i dont get more than 40 fps.
The star of this game is the environment. The rig, the people and the monster.
The game itself is closer to an interactive rollercoaster.
Enjoyable, but you're kind of along for the ride.
Definitely worth experiencing if you've got gamepass, and does a great job making you feel deeply uneasy most of the time.
Oh, and the unapologetically Scottishness and constant swearing are great too.
follow the yellow paint the game
I think I'm slow because when I listen to your reviews all I hear are words.
Agree completely, the acting is superb. It's linear but I don't care. Not every game has to be The Witcher 3.
In my humble, honest opinion. When it comes to this game you should wait for a sale. Heres why and my personal gripes with the game.
The game took me 3 hours to beat in one sitting after a long day of work (today.) and that includes the break i took to take a shower and eat a pretty good dinner. If you are a pretty good gamer you most certainly could beat my time in under that and even if your a bad gamer it probably would take you no more than 5 hours (also mind you, i played on the hardest difficulty.)
The entire game is more platforming than horror. The horror itself isnt really all that memorable neither due to the fact it is incredibly easy to outmanuver and hide from the creatures. (They put hiding spots pretty much everywhere in a straight line and the creatures cant drag you out if said spots most of the time.) the creatures aren't really all that memorable themselves either. They all look about the same. Just a hunk of meat with a face plastered on it with "the things" tentacles. I really wish they had made them more .. unique ?
The story touches on some subjects alot but never really explains them, dives into them, show more about them (the main characters daughers being mentioned over and over but yet never hearing or seeing their voices/selves) for one example.
Alot of the platform sections are super easy and through the hole gane you do the same movements in platforms every time. (Jump, grab, climb, swim, shammy across a tight wall, balence youeself on a small pole/board ) now this wouldn't be such a big deal but in the game everything you can do these actions on are coated orange. So it's never "where do I go?" It's always " where the next orange ledge? So it really numbs the platforming experience down by a LOT.
Overall, the games story was a solid … 4.5 in my opinion.
If your looking for a new game to play a new game, get it if you wish but its incredibly short. If your looking for an actual good horror game check out Amnesia The Bunker.
Now, i not saying its a bad game. Just wait for the sale.. its just one of them games you play once and never again after beating its story.
One thing I will PRAISE about this game is the voice actor and dialogue. They honestly did a really good job on both. The voice actor put his heart into putting emotions in the protagonist you can tell, and the way the protagonist speaks towards his buddies reminded me of the bullshit I be telling my buddies at work.
One of the things I really appreciated about this one was the dialogue. It’s so realistic.
Game has a lot of influences. I see The Thing, The Color Out of Space, and Soma and even a dash of Dead Space.
I don't understand the part about replayability. You replay a game because you want to relive the experience/story again. No need for things in the game to change, although it's a nice plus (personally though, i tend to make the same choices, if i liked how my previous playthrough felt, that's the reason i replay it after all). It's like with a movie – you watch it again, because you want to experience it again, maybe a year later.
Let me guess, it's a 'diverse' Scottish oil rig and there are blatant racists in this as well, I guarantee it, if I'm wrong I will be man enough to admit it.
I’m about 90 mins so far and really enjoying it. The location and story are excellent – and it’s refreshing to have a cast of Scottish characters.
Horror is great too, the only minor complaints are the navigation and the fact that Caz runs and jumps like an improv actor on meth.
$35 is a bit on the steep end for a 5-ish hour experience but I want to support devs that put these kinds of games out so I'll give it a try.
A short finely-tuned narrative horror experience is right up my alley and I want to see more like it!
Anyone know if this game is woke or not?
the only time I wish I had game pass
Take it down on cheesy jokes pal
Nice! Hope they include it on playstation plus or at least discount it heavy so I can enjoy it too. Looks amazing!
Price needs to be alot cheaper for a simple walking simulator
good review, loving the game so far
Thanks for reviewing this. This one has been intriguing me even more so that I know Chinese room developed it. Do you still do walking the walk videos?
LOL at that yellow paint telling you where to go… did the monsters left it to bait the player?
Looks like they took inspiration from The Abyss as well
Graphics look incredible I hope I can run it
Cant wait to get this today as an ex rig welder i got to buy it lol
