I have 1 tree landing, lol. As I was coming in. The winds really picked up and pushed me into a tree and I just ended up sliding down it. Then tumbled backwards down a small hill, lol.
The parachuting community is rather small compared to other sports. Worldwide there are 50,000 active SKY Jumpers and 5,000 active BASE Jumpers. We lose about a dozen Skydivers and 20+ BASE jumpers per year. If you want to learn to jump, then you have to find a Dropzone.
I know my comment is super late, but no coverage of "Drop Zone?" I know he's already debunked a couple of the things that happen in the film, but I would love to see his take on it.
Funnily enough, in the F&F behind the scenes, they show they did in fact drop the cars out on pallets (well, they looked more like simple steel frames), with drogue shoots attached to hold them steady. Assumedly they just CGI’d the chutes & frames out afterwards, so it looked strange and unrealistic that the cars were falling so smoothly – but they did in fact drop actual cars out of an airplane! 😃
Fun fact: the parachutes they used are actually the same ballistic recovery system used to recover small planes & jets, and the like!
The Keanu Reeves' tracking got me thinking about skydiving, and I can't believe that now I'm doing it like him in the sky. I love it so much. With a chute for now though.
One of the first autocomplete results for Jeb Corliss is "jeb corliss death" and the dude is still alive but what he does is so dangerous people just assume he must have died by now. The dude is amazing.
I notice they seem to be using a porter for the goldeneye film. That plane has incredible range and they actually use them for wingsuit plane flocking due to their incredible range. The porter seems to be the plane of choice for these kinda stunts

Jeb Corliss, is a living Legend ❤

JEB's got everyone fooled. Ask him if he is a "SKYDIVER" hes not. Hes a professional bullshitter.
this was so fun to watch!
You forgot Charlie's Angels scene
"New york is very strict about people jumping off buildings"
Gotdam commies.
Still no opening to Power Rangers The Movie. I'm so dissapointed GQ and my day is ruined.
I can't pinpoint it, he infuriates me
I was lucky to go my first time next to the guy that started tandem skydiving, he's 85 and still does it every other week

Dude is legend 😂❤
So cool
Everyone always compliments Tom Cruise. In every breakdown. Thats nice
Referring to Along Came Polly, I remembered Tron Legacy, when main character Sam Flynn does smillar base jump.
I'm so disappointed they didn't cover the Power Rangers movie jump. 😢😂

I don't think Tom Cruise even had a B license before doing this film
Ryan does all of his own stunts to
Actually the city was and is there and real you have not said all of the truth Tom does all of his own stunts
