29:22 "I had hoped that Microsoft's expanding monopoly would make better games, but I guess product quality doesn't matter when the market's cornered."
There, I fixed it for you.
"We all owe this person an apology" 😂😂😂
What a dogshit game
This game hurts me and my friend so much because we are both huge fans of Arkane Studios, him being a huge lover of Prey and me being an absolute fanatic of Dishonored, so this game just makes me and him absolutely saddened and furious that Arkane was essentially forced to make this game that also caused them to go out of business. RIP Arkane, you deserved SO much better than this.
i was re-playing Fallout4 while listening to this, and its just another example added to the litany of not just poorly, but seemingly maliciously poorly made games. ive come to the conclusion that game developers have used analysts to determine the point where a game IP development cost to investment ration is most profitable & what is happening is developers start making a game, it could be good even, but they approach the 'its no longer profitable' point and are forced to just end the project as is, leaving a broken husk of a IP. its why you will often see a glimmer of something in the bad game, like it started with good ideas, but the person who had them was removed from the project. they release the junk & you might think 'junk isnt profitable', and you'd be right with most things, but not games. as long as gamers buy it, and dont refund it, it can be profitable, especially if they keep investments low. leading to where we are now, a low effort low outcome game industry.
Some real iPad baby attention-span vibes right here.
We owe IGN nothing
I can understand Microsoft thinking this is arcane Austin they won’t let us down so it must have been completely hands off
Arcanes fall off was so sad for me.
18:15 enemy named "Miss Whisper Cultist", stands there repeatedly missing you and speaking too quietly. This is the kind of subtle ludonarrative harmony I come to immersive sims like Redfall for.
When I saw the trailer for Redfall, I thought it was going to be about a group of misfits defending their hometown from a vampire overlord and his army. That would have been better than what we actually got.
From day zero of this game's development, I understood that this product would be a slop show.
I do not understand how one could have at any point thought otherwise.
This game was just a scam. It’s a clearly unfinished game that was launched so they could not be sued
10:52 I KNEW that this stealth animation would look like shit, but nothing could prepare me for THAT 🤣
Like Ralph but this review is rife with inaccuracies and it’s clear the negative shitstorm affected his opinions
He bitches about the stills and lack of cutscenes, but the stills reflect your characters appearance and the different characters say different things
The game lowkey good now, too bad they nuked Austin
Playing FPSs with a controller… sounds like a skill issue
I'll never use another piece of steelseries gear due to a bad experience
I recall seeing Redfall ads in Facebook showcasing the weapon skins that you can get if you preorder, as if it's the main selling point of the game. I knew right then and there that this game will crash and burn.
''whether we wanted it or not'' still gets me everytime
3:40 isnt he a little bit to short? LOL:
Another amazing example: A game done during the golden age of wokeness. Of course, everything woke goes to shit = 100% of times. Done and done. True. as you can see… Poor Arkane, previously a very good company, but now infected with DEI hires with no competence… just hired for the color of skin and LGBTQ tastes..
Watching the end of this video 2 years later is like watching Ralph discover his ability to see into the future
Going from replaying Prey and watching a bunch of videos on it, to checking this video out and being reminded of what Arkane's most recent outing was like is some kinda whiplash. The hell happened? This doesn't even look like it's made by the same company lol.
I really hope they pull it together because man, I want the Dishonored era of Arkane back, I want the Prey era of Arkane back, Dark Messiah, whatever, they used to make absolutely killer games.
God he already sounds are so dejected and defeated at the very start lol
He may as well have started off with "hello. Today I'm going to jump off a bridge" and it would have had the same tone
Is anyone else nostalgic for the Redfall catastrophe era? It was a very entertaining month
