RAW: Semi-Truck Driver Strikes Pedestrian in Burnsville
A semi-truck driver struck a pedestrian outside of his vehicle Friday evening in Burnsville, the State Patrol says. The crash sent the pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to an incident report. Just before 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 9, the collision occurred on the ramp from southbound I-35W to Cliff Road in Burnsville. The Minnesota State Patrol said a semi driver heading southbound took the ramp and struck a pedestrian and a vehicle that were in the roadway.
Authorities identified the semi driver as 60-year-old Said Hassan Ali, from Minneapolis. He was driving a 2014 International Prostar, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Alcohol was not involved, per the incident report.
The second vehicle was a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox driven by James Raymond Stone, 38, of Lakeville. Troopers said Stone was outside of his vehicle at the time of the crash and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Hennepin Healthcare and an update on his condition is not yet available. Road conditions were reported to be dry at the time of the crash.

This is exactly why it's illegal for pedestrians & bicycles/scooters etc on the highway… Roads are for Vehicles ONLY.
