I consider myself a progressive, and I would NEVER reject a person simply on the basis of having different views, even if I believe his views to be insane. Losing your humanity and cutting people off because of difference of opinions, different life style, different preferences is fascism, and, unfortunately, liberals and progressives are infected with this disease more than conservatives. Grow up and learn how to have intelligent, substantive and civil conversations with people. Not talking to those you disagree with is childish and cowardly. And it won't help you achieve your political goals. Quite the opposite.
By the way, I am not a fan of HA. and I wouldn't choose him as a friend, but I do believe that having a dialog with him and others whom we don't necessarily like is very important. And, I certainly, respect Jamarl's right to do that.
