Biden's "peace plan," couched as "Israel's plan," stipulates that there would be a "complete" ceasefire that would last for 6 weeks, which used to be called a "pause" at the insistence of the Biden administration. It calls for the "release of several hostages" (Israelis; Biden never refers to Palestinian captives as "hostages) and the "release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners." The media have widely covered these elements of the "peace plan." What they don't point out, however, is that as the "peace plan" gets to the 3rd phase, all Israeli captives will have been accounted for and returned to Israeli families. What about the Palestinian captives? The "peace plan" does not spell that out; it leaves it to the imagination. Therefore, the "peace plan" should be notable for what it doesn't say: It doesn't call for the release of all Palestinian captives, at least the ones who didn't get due process, which according to some sources, could be in the thousands.

On the one hand, Biden credits Israel with the so-called 3-stage "peace plan," and on the other, Hakeem Jeffries says it is Biden who came up with the plan. Who is telling the truth? Well, Biden's allegation was strange because he also claimed that members of the Israeli government, including Netanyahu's coalition government, would "not agree with the plan" and that they would "call for the war to continue indefinitely." He also noted that "an indefinite war in pursuit of an unidentified notion of total victory" would keep Israel bogged down in Gaza. Guess who has been "calling for a total victory"! Why, none other than Netanyahu himself! Therefore, Biden's criticism seems at least partly directed at Netanyahu. Is it conceivable that Israel would greenlight a deal without Netanyahu's approval, as indicated by Biden's remarks?
Jeffries' crediting of Biden for the "peace plan" makes more sense when considering the preceding passage. It better explains why Biden's remarks suffer from contradictions. However, Jeffries' version of events also starts to fall apart when factoring in his claim that the "War Cabinet unanimously agreed to the peace plan." So, what likely happened? Chances are that Biden extrapolated from previous talks what the Israelis would likely agree with and compiled it as the "first phase" of the peace deal and likely improvised the 2nd and 3rd phases of the plan, which have yet to get Israeli approval.🙂
