Through tonight: The chance for showers and storms continues to rise, and will perhaps be highest around and just after midnight. Any severe storms with damaging wind gusts may be more likely to develop around the District and points north:
It will be mostly cloudy and muggy, and not everyone will get needed rainfall. Breezes will calm down a great deal compared to afternoon. By sunrise, as final, stray thundershowers try to move out, low temperatures bottom out within a few degrees of 75 (another potential warm minimum temperature record for the day).

Tomorrow (Monday): Any final early-morning raindrops eventually give way to sunny skies. Seasonable almost-hot temperatures top out in the mid-80s to about 90 degrees. Refreshing breezes from the northwest could gust around 25 mph and will bring in drier, more comfortable air. A spoke of atmospheric energy may rotate through the region during the afternoon, creating the chance for a quick shower or thunderstorm.
Overnight, any evening passing raindrops will end fairly quickly after dark Monday. Skies are mainly clear. Breezes from the north-northwest decrease markedly from daytime levels. Temperatures should bottom out within a few degrees of 65.

Potential records today for both high and low temperature
D.C.’s minimum temperature so far today was 81 degrees. This ties the second-hottest June night on record and is the warmest so early in the year! Showers and storms before midnight have a slight chance of cooling us below 81 degrees, so it’s not official just yet. You can see June 30, 1991, at 82 degrees was the warmest overnight low temperature.
So far today, high temperatures are also setting records again. Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport has gotten to at least 98, and that is a new record high temperature for today’s date. Reagan National Airport has gotten to at least 98 degrees, and that ties today’s record high. Washington Dulles International Airport has gotten to at least 97, setting a new record high for today’s date.
We’ll cover this and look ahead at the week’s weather in tonight’s Sunday Sunset Live Q&A on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X! Our 20-minute chat will start at 8:37 p.m.
