Wish he was wiser and knew that the reason he wasn't feeling playing live anymore or enjoying music was ONLY because of heroin! How did he not know that? And whilst i think clean heroin is better than drinking and its got its place as long as you don't use everyday! Use it as fun a few nights a week or less and your fine, even doctors, counsellors, etc have told me its better than drinking for you as long as not street shit and you don't get a habit but thats the same as alcohol, no one complains about alcohol but you can get addicted to alcohol as easy as any drug!

When it comes to live music, the thing that really impresses me is if you are able to reproduce live what you did in the studio. It goes for voice and instruments alike.
It's shocking how few musical acts are capable of doing it. It's also kind of shocking how so many "grunge or alternative" bands were able to, and in a lot of instances, sound even better.
I don't know if it was a 90's thing or what, but bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, STP, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, etc. are all able to reproduce live what they accomplished in the studio.
It's kind of remarkable how few groups, regardless of genre, can sound like they do on the album. It doesn't make them a bad band or not worth seeing live, it's just something few bands are capable of. So when you hear the ones that can, like Nirvana, it just really stands out.

As a lifelong Nirvana fan this has actually always been my least favorite of the shows that are widely circulated. I think the way the audio is really flattened the experience. Also the performances weren’t among my favorites. The awkwardness during Come As You Are was funny though.

Horrible band, indeed. Grunge is shitty as it is, but Nirvana and Pearl Jam really took it to unbelievable levels of sonar nastyness and boredom.
