New York State Troopers fatally shot a stabbing suspect
WOODBURY, N.Y. – New York State Troopers fatally shot a stabbing suspect, Ali Ali, on Wednesday after a dramatic manhunt spanning multiple counties. Ali, 28, was wanted for stabbing a laundromat employee in Brooklyn on Monday over an issue with his laundry.
The search intensified early Wednesday when police tracked a stolen vehicle he was driving. After a fiery crash near Harriman, Ali fled into the woods. A tip from a homeowner’s trail camera helped locate him in Highland Mills.
Troopers confronted Ali, who was armed with a knife. Despite being tased, Ali charged at officers, prompting them to open fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
