The answer he gave to that kid seems to me like he is already preparing his audience for an outcome that was decided by the proper amount of zeros in between the number "2" and the decimal point. It's just an opinion, but the way I saw and replayed this fight I noticed multiple instances in which Mike was about to catch Paul of guard and use his uppercut , and deliberately decided not to do so.
He just said so, he doesn't believe in the word legacy. Such strong word is protected by not playing along with the circus that the Paul brothers elaborated, and I totally get it. It's very likely Mike needed money, and this was the easiest and faster way to make a bank, and he did in before my eyes.
I respect those who have a different point of view than mine, but I firmly believe this was the case.
Hardly anyone understands becasue most are just couch potatoes that dont workout or train fighting. Being an older guy myself, 47, I can hit pads and do padwork for over an hour easily at a great pace and look awesome. But when I have to spar with someone in there 20s and they are pretty good, they work at a faster pace and can scramble and its in those quick scrambles where I get tired, also if i take a good shot I dont recover as fast and the other guy starts putting a faster pace and thus compounding how much more I gas
