  1. In proper context these techniques come from fuedal Japan and swordfighting. It was very common at that time for people to grab you by the arm or wrist in attempt to either disarm you or prevent you from drawing your weapons. For that, they work very well. Also these hand grab practices like the one shown were largely done for beginner practice to learn the fundamental mechanics not as a fighting application in and of themselves. Trying to use something like that against Iron Mike is the equivalent of bringing a knife to a gunfight. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than putting down Tyson if he wanted to hurt you.

  2. In my opinion, mike was young at this time. In his head he only think about boxing and not other art. For me every arts have their on strenght and every arts has their on specialty. For example, boxing good at punching avoiding the attack but lack at kicking, weapon, grappling etc, aikido focusing on joint lock because the purpose of aikido is to capture your enemy without hurting them and you dont need use strength, thats why most of the police use aikido to capture the criminals if they dont have handcuff, same goes to other arts. So thats why true martial arts practitioner learn different art to understand the beauty of each art. You can take an example from Dan Inosanto, one of the greatest martial artist in the world, not only he learn numerous of martial arts and system such as muay thai, wing chun, jiujitsu, JKD, Kali, aikido, silat and etc, but he also teach us the lesson which is "Observation is not enough" and " I learn as may arts as possible, constantly learning all the time, once you stop being a student, you stop growing. So thats why you wasting your time, comparing which arts is better rather than learn all the arts to become better than anyone else.

  3. ⚔️🛡️👏🏿👏🏿☝🏿🔍🔥! I have studied Aikido for years it doesn't matter how strong you grab a man's wrist once you pull away in a circular motion the thumbs and pinky will give away and the other fingers will follow !
