I have worked with alot of police… alot of them want confrontation…All they had to do is call his phone. simple. He stated that he paid with his phone. All they had to do was go look or call the damn phone. Simple. Again they escalate a simple issue. Some establishments will not care to look. People get fed up and lose patience because alot of police dont care to help certain people. Dude, they didnt try to find his phone… why would he say thank you…
1 Call the phone while inside where he had been and by the serving station. One or 2 minutes no harm. 2 check video and see if it shows him holding a phone. Both are quick and easy to do. With any of you trust that a server or staff at a restaurant would not steal your phone? Also. Your trespassed you will be arrested if you come back and at the same time come back tomorrow and get your phone. You told him he will be arrested if he comes back and that he should come back. On what planet does that make any sense? That phone doubles as his wallet. It is his whole livelihood. You guys are acting like it’s a cigarette lighter. He asked for two completely reasonable efforts to get his phone back and was denied both of them and told that he was lying, and the staff was honest without ever making any effort to find out. If both your phone and your wallet are inside and are gone and they tell you you’re lying and they come back tomorrow right after telling you you will be arrested if you come back how would that make you feel and what would you do? Of course you never try to get physical with police officers. They take down at the end was necessary. However, it could’ve been completely avoided just by taking a few moments to look into it. Also, he did get really close to her, but did he actually make physical contact with her? I don’t believe he did. Was it too close yes but did he actually touch her I don’t think so but tell me if I’m wrong. He did ask repeatedly for her information. Then when she refused, he asked a male cup, who told him that only her information was relevant. Police are required by law to give you their badge number and a case number. When you criminally trespass someone there is paperwork. So again, I am not condoning him however would you think it was at all reasonable if you were in his shoes, being kept from your entire livelihood, and not one second of the police actually trying to help you while at the same time, they are telling you, they are trying to help you. I always back the blue, but there are times when they are in the wrong and in this case, I believe they were completely in the wrong. De-escalating situations is literally one of the primary purposes of their job, and they had every opportunity to do so and absolutely refuse to do it. At no time did he threaten to hurt anyone that I saw. Did he? Did I miss something? You also cannot charge someone for assault if they don’t actually touch the person. They had multiple ways to de-escalate and diffuse this situation and refuse to do any of them.

How typical of a sheriff to automatically take the cops side! You say he was intoxicated but what evidence do you have when the employee said they never served him. Looks like no crime was committed because he can say what he want under 1st amendment and he can ask her to identify herself as a public servant which is required by policy. So with no crime the arrest isn't legal which will kick out the drug charge for illegal search. No bond on the assault on a LEO? Show me an assault.
