if you need inexpensive tripods the best source is the Goodwill or Salvation Army. There is almost always one somewhere in a dusty corner. Craigslist is good too. Throw a sandbag on each one and you're in business.
Hi JP im biding on a crop symptomology imaging project 35 visits 3hr per visit over 5 month time frame end plan is 10,000 plus images for book and web. trying to figure a bid never done project like this.
It was fun to see how oddly Jeff had arranged his lights and cameras and a little sad knowing he probably put a lot of effort into the set up (we have all been there). And then to see how much help and knowledge a pro can provide in such a short amount of time.
Thanks Jay P! I really like how this video shows a less than optimal, real world scenario challenge. I consider myself to be an intermediate A/V producer, with mostly prosumer equipment, but this video is a great review of the basics. I hope a lot of people just getting started bookmark it and come back to it. Good stuff.
I like how Jay was polite re: the tripods, which looked like they were about to fall over at any moment. Learned my lesson when my camera went over on a cheap tripod – I guess we all do. Presumably those camcorders aren't heavy. Great video.
LOVE this video series idea! It was fun to see you observe how he would normally do it and then mentor him in making some tweaks using the equipment he already has. Please do more of these! Such a great idea and I hope it gets a good response. I'm sure there are a TON of small youtubers in LA that would love a lighting makeover from Jay P.
i'm gonna check this guy out
Anyone else finds Jeff Taylor's voice sounds like Saul Goodman's?
Just wanna say that i trully love your videos ❤
set the tripods on chairs if you need to get higher in a pinch…till you get taller legs
Better call Saul

How do I find that picture of the dog looking at the tv screen? I remember seeing it in one of your videos and I can't find it!
