  1. I am a native of Shreveport La. My family moved away sadly like many where forced to do in the early 2000’s due to my dads work. He had been at Atlas Refinery for many years when Pennzoil sold the facility. My grandparents lived in the Highlands Neighborhood for many years into there death. They lived on Kirby street. My family had years of history in the town from my mom singing on the Louisiana Hayride to my great grandfather Bill Munsell who owned several grocery stores in Shreveport back in the day. I loved growing up in Shreveport and have many great memories.

  2. @ around 3:18, not as true as depicted. I remember in the mid to late 1980s all the remaining "shotgun" houses were refurbished with new landscaping and clotheline poles erected in the backyards. Most people that lived there were appreciative some not so much. We built and installed the clothesline poles only to be called the next day to say we didn't install them straight. Went down there ans ADULTS had been swinging on them.
