As the title states, this laptop cooling fan works great! There’s a lot of different incline options for whatever suits your need best and it could easily be used for a tablet as well. The taps that hold the laptop in place are pretty tall so you can fit a thicker laptop or tablet with ease. The instructions were clear and straight to the point and the packaging was very simple, not stupidly large for what the product was and used only as much plastic was was needed.

My laptop went from feeling really warm to being pleasantly cool. I highly recommend this product.

I bought a high spec gaming laptop and was worried about the heat gaming.

For the modest price, I feel it’s worth it to elevate my laptop and leave some open space for air circulation. The fans are enough to keep the space under my laptop cool. The fans aren’t very powerful but enough to do the job. The advantage here is modest fan power equals whisper quiet.

I have the elevation set to the lowest position which works well for my set up and I prefer this to laying flat. This is personal preference because I’m using my laptop with a lap desk; some may not like this so think about it before you order.

As others have pointed out, don’t expect miracles. CPUs and GPUs can put out a lot of heat, particularly gaming laptops, internally. This cooling pad is only cooling around the case.

Additional comments:
I forgot to mention when I originally wrote this that I have an 18″ laptop. This cooling pad is rated up to 17″ which is technically correct. However, it works well with my 18″ laptop. It just overlaps each edge by a tiny bit which is no big deal. I chose this over an 18″ cooling pad because they’re scarcer and the few I saw were significantly more expensive.

I also picked this brand because it was recommended by a tech reviewer (who was rating gaming laptops).

This product definitely has its drawbacks, but I bought it at 20 bucks; which makes it hard to complain about some things for that price! But I’ll go ahead and do it, because I think it’ll be helpful. But just keep in mind that I’m not dissatisfied with the purchase at all (for now).

So to start off, the base is not comfortable in your lap at all, if you’re going to have the laptop with you on your lap, you’ll need some other thing below it because otherwise the base will dig into your legs and it’s quite uncomfortable. The plastic in the base also feels pretty flimsy, like if I put just a little bit too much pressure in the wrong place it’s going to snap, so just be aware of that and be careful moving this thing around when you need to. So far it seems alright, but I will update my review if the base gives out because I treat it pretty carefully.

Another thing, if you have a thinner laptop, BE AWARE of the little supports at the edge of the base… They stick out too much and so they dig into my wrists sometimes whenever I’m typing. You could probably shave them down though, or more easily, opt for a different base. The good thing is my laptop can stay on the base with the little supports closed as long as the base is on the lowest angle rung.

Now the things that I DO like about this base! And of that, there’s quite a bit. To start off, the thing that surprised me was that it has two extra USB ports in the back, and my laptop only has 2 USB ports to start off with, so having those 2 extra ones from the base is AWESOME! I keep my mouse plugged into the base so I can have my drawing tablet and cooling pad plugged into the laptop itself. And whenever I need to use a game controller, I can just plug that into the cooling pad and it works just fine with the laptop (as long as the cooling pad is plugged in).

This thing is also very quiet, sometimes I can’t even tell that it’s on. I’m not quite sure about how strong the fans are, but I only got this because my laptop is quite thin and I wanted to have something to help cool it down and it never seems to get too terribly hot with this running, even when I’m playing games.

I do recommend this product if you’re willing to accept its drawbacks and especially if you can grab it when it’s on sale. It’s great for its function, but it’s not very comfortable to use at all and seems kind of flimsy. I think 30 bucks for this is getting a little too steep for its quality, but 20 is much easier to justify.

Who knew cooling down your laptop could be as thrilling as a polar plunge in Antarctica? Well, strap in, fellow tech enthusiasts, because the Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad just turned my gaming sessions into a frosty fiesta!

First off, let’s talk about the design. It’s sleeker than an ice skater’s moves, and those 5 whisper-quiet fans are like the backup dancers, making sure your laptop stays cool without disrupting the show. My Alienware, notorious for running hotter than a summer day in the desert, now chills like it’s on vacation in the Swiss Alps.

The dual USB hub is the unsung hero here, letting me connect more devices than my laptop probably knew it could handle. It’s like the Kootek pad is saying, “Sure, cool down your laptop, but why not invite some friends to the party too?”

But wait, there’s more! This cooling stand isn’t just functional; it’s practically the laptop’s personal spa. With 6 adjustable height settings, it’s like finding the perfect massage chair position for your precious machine. I’ve never seen my Alienware so relaxed—it’s practically purring!

And the stoppers on the front? Pure genius. No more heart-stopping moments as my laptop teeters on the edge like a high-wire acrobat. It’s like Kootek said, “Safety first, folks!”

In conclusion, if you want your laptop to feel like it just stepped out of a luxurious ice bath, the Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad is your ticket. It’s not just a cooler; it’s a cool-down experience, a technological oasis for your overheated devices. So, grab one, sit back, and watch your laptop become the coolest kid on the digital block. Cheers to Kootek—keeping laptops cool! ❄️🔥

Easily one of the best laptop cooling pads you can get.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 22, 2021

I recently replaced my six year old gaming laptop with a new one (a Lenovo Legion 5), which ironically isn’t as good at keeping itself as cool and quiet as the old one (which actually never needed a cooling pad), so I decided to look for a decent one that would do the job. I looked at various models, but kept coming back to this Kootec one after reading numerous reviews saying that it was one of the best. It wasn’t the cheapest either, but I’m thoroughly of the opinion that you get what you pay for (most of the time) so I decided to go for it.

I was a little put-off by the fact that it was coming from the US, but I needn’t have worried as it arrived within a week. I’ve been using it for a few days now, so let’s get on with the review!

>>>WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
The Kootek pad comes in a slim box, and in the box you’ll find the pad itself and a small set of instructions – and that’s it!

>>>FIRST IMPRESSIONS?
I’ve had a few cooling pads over the years, but this one feels better designed than any of the previous ones and it generally feels pretty well built, too. The cooling pad comprises of two parts; the upper section which has a metal meshed top surface that contains the fans and the cooling gubbins, and the bottom section, which acts as the base – they’re connected at the front by a hinged mechanism which allows the rear of the pad to tilted up, allowing more airflow and a more comfortable typing angle. There are two chunky supports at the front of the pad to keep your laptop in place while it’s tilted, and they fold away neatly when not in use and have foam pads on them to stop your laptop from slipping.

Through the metal grille on its top, you can see four small fans at its corners and a big beastly one in the centre. Underneath, you’ll see the intakes for the fans and a non-removable short USB-A cable with a recess to clip it into, along with a handy little cable storage bit. Along the rear edge of the cooler, you’ll find two USB-A ports and two buttons with large LEDs next to them.

>>>GOING AT FULL-TILT!
One of the problems I’ve had with previous laptop coolers is that they’ve had tiny, spindly legs to raise them up to a small angle to increase airflow, but I’m glad to say that that’s not the case with this one. There’s a metal bar connected to the underneath of the top section of the cooler, which fits into notches in the base part; there are five levels of height adjustment which range from a gentle slope to a severe slope of around 35 degrees – and you can also choose to leave it completely level, but I would imagine that you’d lose some of the cooling ability while it’s like this.

>>>WILL IT FIT BIGGER AND HEAVIER LAPTOPS?
Take a look at the photos and you’ll see images of the cooler with my new 15.6″ laptop and my old 17.3″ behemoth sitting on it. The pad is generously sized and should fit all but the most massive of laptops. My old laptop is an Asus ROG G751, which is probably bigger than most of the new 17.3″ ones – it’s also very heavy, tipping the scales at 4.2Kg, and the cooler surprisingly seems able to handle its weight without bending or wobbling.

>>>HOW DOES THE COOLING PAD WORK?
This laptop cooler has five fans in all, which push cool air towards the underneath of your laptop. The fans are controlled by two buttons on the coolers rear edge; one button turns the four small ones on, and the other turns the large central one on – and you can of course have all them all operating simultaneously for maximum cooling.

The fans have blue backlighting, which can’t be turned off, and the blue LEDs next to the power buttons on the rear of the device are very bright.

>>>IS IT LOUD?
When you use the four small fans on this cooler, you’ll hear a gentle whooshing noise – it’s very quiet and unobtrusive. The large fan makes a deeper whooshing noise and with both turned on the noise level elevates slightly, but never to an annoying degree. There’s also a small amount of vibration, particularly from the large central fan, but it’s again never an irritant.

>>>EXTRA PORTS
If you’ve got a laptop that’s got a tiny amount of USB ports, here’s some good news – you gain an extra one with this cooler!

>>>HOW EFFECTIVE IS THIS COOLER?
I’ve done some testing with my Lenovo Legion 5, using the Witcher 3 running at 1920×1080 and all the graphics settings turned up to Ultra. Without the cooler turned on, the laptop reports GPU temperatures of 70-72c, and with all of the cooling fans on, it reports a pretty stable 65-67c – which represents a respectable 4-5c drop! This will undoubtedly vary between laptop models, but with the Legion 5, the placement of the two rear fans on the cooling pad almost exactly match the intakes on the underneath of it, so it’s a very good match. However, since there are five fans on the pad it should suit the majority of laptops.

>>>CONCLUSION
Summing up, I would say that this is pretty much the perfect laptop cooler; when you invest £1500 on a powerful piece of hardware, keeping it cool is super-important and I would consider it an essential purchase. Its powerful cooling fans are very good at boosting your laptop’s cooling abilities, and on top of that it’s cool-looking, quiet and highly adjustable. Would definitely recommend!
